• Tim Berners-Lee creates the first Web browser

named WorldWideWeb.

• First ever website and server made live at CERN

by Berners-Lee.

• Alan Emtage develops first search tool at McGill

University.

• 42% of adult Americans have used a computer.

• First web cam/live

stream is created so

that researchers can

check if their coffee

• WorldWideWeb is released by Cern as a public

domain.

• Mosaic 1.0 is created and published creating the

internet as it is known today as it was the first

• First known web purchase is made of a perreroni

• Xbox live launched much to critical dismay due to

• This is interesting when compared with the 6%

who agreed to this is 2002.

• Pinterest an idea sharing site launches.

• Instagram and image based form of social media

launches.

• 35% of adults have a smart phone with apps.
