NRHH 9:09 PMWe’re having GI’s!! Today there was one in Esopus. There are 3 more left: tomor-row at 8:30 in Gage, Wednesday at 4pm in Deyo, and Thursday at 6:30 in Bouton. Come out and learn about what we do, it’s a fun time. Applications and letters of recommendation are due April 9th at 11:59pm. Hope you all apply!

This weekend we also had the opportunity to go to the Mini’s conference, and you’ll hear more about that during NCC report. Our very own NCC Mike won an RBD choice award for outstanding NCC as well as a silver pin!! You’ve probably heard

Page 2: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

about bronze pins at banquet, they’re a pin given to people on campus to recognize the work they’ve done on a campus level. A silver pin is the equivalent of that on a regional level. Ashley Enright was also accepted into the NACURH Advancement Society, and she was also elected to the RBD as the Coordinating Officer for Recognition and Service for next year! Lastly, our NRHH chapter won break-through chapter of the year!!!!!

SENATE 9:11 PMWe passed a new bylaw which puts different clubs into a tier system. If you forget to charter your club, you’re not automatically knocked out of our system. People make mistakes, we’re all human.

CAS is giving out free water bottles! A lot of people have been having concerns about this recently, so you can just go into the CAS office and ask for a free water bottle, and they’ll give you a cute little blue and orange water bottle. The CAS of-fice is located in Hasbrouck opposite the computer lab.

UPD is tabling at the Farmer’s Market. They’re conducting a survey on your expe-rience with UPD, so it would be cool if you gave in your feedback.

If you haven’t registered to vote yet, NYPIRG is tabling today, tomorrow, and Wednesday in the SUB, Has, and Lecture Center from 11am-6pm, so you have am-ple time to go register to vote.

E-board elections are happening soon! If you’re interested in running for e-board or for Senate, come to our next meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 in SUB 62/63! Come through.

RECYCLEMANIA 9:13 PMA lot of you have been doing recycling programs in your hall, which is AWESOME! Green Life was amazing, congrats to Capen Hall Gov for winning! We hope every-one goes to our other events in the future.

Last week was the Instagram challenge, and there were a bunch of posts! Syed and Molly are still in the process of figuring out the winners, and they should know by next meeting.

This week is the Instagram VIDEO challenge! There are the same rules as the In-stagram challenge, but this one is more freeformed. You can post a 15 second video about you recycling, use the same hashtags. Get creative, be green. There will be prizes for the most creative and the most green. You can post now until the 20th at midnight.

We saw a change in the rankings this week, which means all of your programs are working! Keep up the good work! If you wanna learn about the club and what we do, we table at the Farmer’s Market every Thursday from 10:30-3:30 in the Lecture Center. We’re also designing t-shirts, and the prices should be finalized by next meeting!

SENATE (PT. 2) 9:15 PMThe senate just took a vote on the removal of tuition hikes for 2020, which shows that our protest, rally, and press conference TOTALLY WORKED! They’re hearing what we have to say, and this shows that student voices are extremely important.

FUNDING REQUEST 9:16 PM

Presentation:Hi! I’m Trisha and I’m the president of the Global Medical Brigades here at New Paltz. At the end of May, 13 brigadiers are gonna go to Honduras and set up a clinic to provide care to those who don’t have the funds. Lately, we’ve been fundraising to buy the medication we need to set the clinic up. On Thursday the 17th, we’ll be hosting at Cabaloosa’s from 9:30pm-4am. We want to have 2 profes-sor bands and a DJ. From 9:30-11, Questionable Authorities will be performing for us, and that’s the band that Glenn Geher is in. From 11-12, Gel will be performing, which is the band that Raj Pandya is in. After that, we’re gonna have a DJ from 12am-4pm. We’re asking for $1,000 to put on the show. We want to pay each per-former $100, so that’s where $300 is going to. We want $100 for advertising and $600 for transporting the bands equipment and such to the location. The event is open to everyone in town and on campus. We’ve been advertising a lot, and this is a good way to get funds.

Move to open Q&A: BevierSecond: DuBois

Question & Answer:

Bouton: What kind of advertising are you using?- We’re gonna put flyers and posters in town on bulletin boards, and we’re putting

posters on the outdoor bulletin boards on campus. We’ve also been advertising on social media too.

Bouton: Have you asked any other organizations for funds?- SA is giving us some money, but that money is for our actual trip to Honduras.

They’re giving us $1,600 for airfare. This is gonna give everyone going on the

Page 4: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

trip a $120 reimbursement. We’re asking you all for money for our event on Thursday, not our actual trip.

Lenape: Is the $600 just for transportation?- It’s for transpiration and other fees. In Cabaloosa’s, there’s no PA system for the

bands, so the bands need to rent their own if they don’t have one. The $600 would go to transportation, rental fees, the PA system, and logistics like that.

Capen: How much money do you expect to fundraise?- We get 80% of the 21+ cover charge fees and 50% of the 18-21 cover charge.

We’re hoping to making $500. That’s the goal, but obviously you never know. This is one of our major fundraising events. The more money we raise, the bet-ter, which is why we need so much for advertising.

Bouton: Have you ever done an event like this before? Like is this the first time you’re hosting at Cabs?- We’ve been around for about 4 years now, and we’ve put on shows before, but

none have been as big as this one. Glen said he’s done shows for us before and he’d love to do it again. It’s usually been just his band performing and Snugs or something. We’ve never had this many performers all together at Cabs. This is definitely the first big event we’ve had.

Bouton: The $1,000 is only going to this event?- Yes, the money is for transporting the bands, paying the bands, and advertising.

It’s not going to our actual trip, because this event directly services the commu-nity because it’s open to everyone.

Bouton: What DJ are you going to have?- DJ TJ. My friend knows her and says that she’s good.

Bliss: When is this event?- It’s this Thursday, March 17th. It’s from 9:30 until whenever Cabs closes, so

around 4am.

Bouton: If you don’t get the $1,000, what do you plan on doing?- It’s ideal if we got all the money so we could make our event even better. We

want it to be big and grand so that people actually wanna come. The money would help make this event incredible. If we didn’t get the money, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. However, we’ve been fundraising a lot and this is our big event, and we’re trying to use all of our resources for this event.

Lenape: Just to clarify, if you couldn’t get the full amount, how low could you go?- If we didn’t get the full amount, we would just downscale everything. We could

probably go as low as….$400-$500? Any amount would help, honestly. The full amount is ideal, but we’d also be able to downscale.

Scudder: What’s the budget at right now?- It’s around $1,800.

Discussion:

Bouton: I know this is annoying to do, but I think we need to lower the price. $600 is a lot for transportation, and I don’t think they need $100 for advertising. Like, is it so necessary for them to print in color? I think black and white would do the same job, and then they could print from their own quota. 13 people doing that would be ample advertising. I think we should give them $600 instead of $1,000.Bevier: I agree with everything just said. Especially since she said they were ad-vertising on social media, and that’s a really good platform. They’re asking for $100 for advertising, but social media is free.Gage: I agree with $600, since this is only for an event, not the actual trip. I think we can all agree that the actual trip is extremely cool, but this event would only raise $500.Collango: She didn’t seem that concerned when we asked her how much she could scale back.Ridgeview: I agree that $600 is a better amount. The fact that they’re asking for more money than they’re planning on raising seems strange.Bouton: In reference to a previous comment, the money they’re fundraising is for the trip, not for paying back the band. They’d be making a profit in the sense of getting supplies for the clinic they’re gonna set up.Capen: Are they only allowed to submit a funding request for events/programs? Because if they’re not…I think we could just give the money to them directly for their trip.- Yes, you are allowed to request funds that directly go to the trip. However, they

didn’t ask for that; they asked for funds for this event they’re doing. We have to stick to the funding request; we can’t just give them the $500 they’re planning on raising because that’s easier. For future reference, funding requests can go to anything that will better the campus community in some way.

Lenape: I think $600 is a good price, especially since she said the lowest she could go is $400-$500. It’s a good event, and I think the money they raise will go to a good cause.

OLD BUSINESS 9:35 PMMotion to Open: CrispellSecond: Lenape

NCCLike Maria said before, MINI’S HAPPENED! At Mini’s, every piece of business ever is voted on. The only legislation that changed is that they removed the ability to win a monetary prize from awards. Sorry. We have a budget to uphold. There are still a bunch of pieces of legislation to vote on, so NCC chats are gonna be fun.

Five people from New Paltz got 2 year service pins! Those people are: Mike Hebert, Ariana Carbonaro, Sammi Liu, Ashley Enright, and Maria Gillin.

We also voted on a lot of awards. Geneseo won School of the Year. Rhode Island won NRHH Building Block. Columbia won RHA Building Bloack. NYU won the Ad-vocacy Award. We also elected a few members of the RBD. The Director will be Cassie Balzarini, hosted by UMaine, Luke Habib, hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institue, will be the Associate Director of Administration and Finance, Colin Howard will be the Associate Director for NRHH, Tara will be the Coordinating Officer for Campus Development, and Ashley Enright will be the Coordinating Offi-cer for Recognition and Service. Four people were inducted into the NACURH Ad-vancement Society: Ashley Enright, Mary Gallivan, Tyler Sherman (RHSA presi-dent at Geneseo among other things), and Cassandra Deal. Four silver pins were awarded: Tyler Sherman (Associate Director for Programming Resources), Victoria Nandel (Mini’s 2016 Conference Chair), and Chris Weiland (NCC at Northeastern), and our very own Mike Hebert!

The RBD gives out awards that are equivalent to awards with actual bids. RBD Outstanding NCC is equivalent to NCC Of The Year. We won Outstanding NRHH Breakthrough Chapter, which is equivalent to NRHH Building Block. We’re proud to say that we also won OUTSTANDING SCHOOL! This award is equivalent to the School of the Year. That’s not just RHSA and NRHH and our advisors, that’s all of you guys too. Thanks for being amazing, and thanks for your commitment to this organization.

One last thing: Mike will try not to cry. At the last NACURH conference, 7 of us sat in a circle and yelled out themes for a potential Mini’s conference. Most of us were like, no, this isn’t actually gonna happen. But a few of us kept it in the back of our mind. Going to the conference at Geneseo motivated us to keep doing more and go through with our bid. It’s taken a toll on us, because writing a bid and pre-senting this bid in a room full of NCC’s is stressful. We are proud to say that Mini’s 2017, Marty Like a Rockstar, will be hosted here at SUNY New Paltz!!!!!!! We took a moment to recognize everyone on the conference staff: Finance Chair

Page 7: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

Sammi Liu, Programming and Registration Chair Angelique Burgos, Housing Chair Meryl Stromberg, Hospitality and Dining Chair Alana Slatky, Sponsorship and Pub-lication Chair Breanna Casucci, Technology and Facilities Chair Rui Gomes, Secu-rity and Transportation Chair Nicole Santa Maria, Entertainment Chair Catherine Callan, Spirit Chair Ariana Carbonaro, Banquet and Awards Chair Dayamara Cruz, Philanthropy and Volunteer Chair Raine Nel, our two advisors Rob Moysey and Sarah Melvin, and our AMAZING Conference Chair Michael Hebert. The staff has a long road ahead of us, but we’re all so excited. Since Mike is now an official member of the RBD, he can no longer represent us at NCC chats and conferences, but he’ll still be your friendly neighborhood NCC. We also have our NCC from NRHH, Maria, and 2 amazing NCC-ITs.

Look out for applications for NACURH soon!!!

We took a moment to recognize Mike again. Not only did he win a silver pin, which is CRAZY, but he’s also on the RBD and won RBD choice for Outstanding NCC. R-O-C-K YOU ROCK YOU ROCK!

CCCJust so everyone knows, if you tag #nprhsa on all of your Recyclemania posts, you get GFP’s! So tag us and that’s it.

During roll call/hall reports, if you say you’re wearing a shirt but you’re not, you don’t get GFP’s. Angelique takes note about who isn’t actually wearing a shirt.

STARS

Page 8: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

You should see a sign up sheet and schedule in all of your folders. PLEASE hand in the sign up sheet by the next AC meeting so we know how much food we have to order.

Program proposals are due Wednesday by midnight, or you give us a paper copy at anyone’s office hours. Keep talking about STARS at your meetings and keep up the good work!

Campus CleanupIf you like a clean campus like we do, join us on March 30th to clean the campus! The time is TBA, so look out for that at our next meeting. If you’re in APO or an-other group that needs service hours, find me or another e-board member and we’ll sign off on it. You can make a team and clean the campus and be happy.

Hall-ywoodIt’s another year of Hallywood!!!! There’s a packet in your folders with a break-down about everything. In the back of the packet, there’s a staff sheet that you have to fill out so we know everyone from your Hall Gov is involved. Hallywood is pretty much a way to work with your Hall Gov to create a video and compete against other halls. Rules are on the second page. The video can be about any-thing at all, but keep it PG-13. If you’re unsure of what PG-13 is, google it. Videos can’t be longer than 4 minutes. DO NOT PERFORM DANGEROUS STUNTS! We do not wanna be responsible for any injuries that may occur. We’ll give out DVD’s at the next meeting so you can burn your video onto the disc. After being submit-ted, we’ll watch them during our AC meetings and vote on them. There’s an e-board choice and a viewer’s choice, and we’ll give out the awards at banquet. There’s a timeline in the packet of when everything needs to be done. Fill out the 2nd to last page and hand it in to us NEXT MEETING (along with your STARS sign up sheets!).

ElectionsQuick note: a lot of people tend to say things like “I think…” during discussion. Re-member that you’re representing your hall, not yourself.

Expectations:The treasurer is in charge of the budget and keeping track of it. They’re in charge of Disbursing Orders, or DO’s. They plan the budget for the year and submit it to the e-board for approval. They act as a resource for all hall treasurers. They give guidance and suggestions for the following year’s budget. They monitor the phone log and phone bills. They review funding requests submitted to RHSA along with the president. They’re in constant contact with the CAS office. They’re in charge of the care package program.

Presentation #1:

Hello, I’m Elee. Happy Pi Day. As most of you know, I’m running to be treasurer for next year! I would be in charge of the budget throughout the year, disburse-ment orders, paying the phone bill, care packages, and reviewing funding re-quests. I’d be working with June Pott who’s the accounting manager for CAS and Jenn Slader who’s the assistant director of ResLife. I would also go to PresCab and

Page 9: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

CAS board meetings throughout my term. I would serve 2 office hours per week, and I would attend e-board and AC meetings. I would have a one-on-one with an advisor every other week. I would also work with the future e-board to make it as fantastic as it can be. Some of you may be wondering, why treasurer, why now? In high school, I ran to be the president of my music honor society, but they said I wasn’t really the leader type. That was true at the time, and no one had confidence in me. Ever since getting involved this year and being president of my Hall Gov, I’ve found my passion within RHSA and I’ve found my confidence. I would be a valuable, creative, and hardworking member of this e-board. My combined love of math, organization, and excel spreadsheets will help greatly. I’m a hard worker, and I will work to master every aspect of this position. I know I can do this, and I hope you guys see that I can do this too. I yield to questions.

Question and Answer #1:

How do you plan on balancing your schedule next year?- I’m applying for RA, but that’s not a sure thing. I also plan on taking a light

schedule of classes next semester.

Who have you spoken to about this position?- I’ve spoken with Alana Slatky, Jarred Slatky, and Dan Brogan. They all gave me

great advice on how to handle this position.

What advice did they give you?- My favorite piece of advice was to “always be ready for a paper waterfall”. You

never know when a lot of people are gonna have a billion receipts at once. They also told me to stay organized.

How have you made sure you’ll be on top of everything?- I’m a planner in every sense of the word. I plan every second of my life. I’m

ready when things come at me out of nowhere. You never know when all of a sudden, you’re gonna be bombarded by a million things at once. I’d make a list, prioritize, and get everything as quickly as I can.

What do you think will be the most difficult part of being treasurer?- I think it would be getting people to sign DO’s as soon as possible.

What are your weaknesses and how do you plan to overcome them?- I think I’m so organized in my own certain way, sometimes I don’t get why people

don’t do the same thing as me. Hall Gov has taught me a lot about how to deal with that. I’ve learned how to balance my work style with everyone else’s to work collectively together.

What experience do you have with treasurer duties?- I love math. Like, I just really love numbers. I think they’re wonderful and magi-

cal, so I’m good in that field. I like to think that I balance my own budget as well because you know, we’re in college…living on a budget.

Have you noticed any weaknesses this year that you want to improve next year?

Page 10: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

- I think it would be really cool if we set up a notification system for care pack-ages, similar to the mail room.

What’s your communication style like when it comes to dealing with personal prob-lems?- When I see what’s happening, I like to take a second and think about why their

ideas are different from mine. If I understand why our ideas are different, I can work better with them.

How do you plan to make the most out of the budget?- I would divide the budget up into sub-budgets. I would reference what been

done in the past, and I would look at what past treasurers have done.

Presentation #2:

Hi everyone. For those of you who don’t know me…I find that hard to believe. I’m Rui, I’m a double major in physics and astronomy and I’m a possible double minor in mathematics and computer science. I’m here to run the the 3rd top position in the food chain of RHSA. A lot of you may be wondering: why treasurer, why now? Well, there are a lot of reasons. First, I love RHSA so much, and I’ve met so many people from so many different spectrums. You’ve got you biology majors over here, and your digital media people over here. It’s really amazing that we’re all able to come together in this one place. Second, you don’t get to meet these people off campus. Where else will you find a music therapy person and a communications major? I still want to grow as a leader. There’s more I can do. I want to go to PresCab, and I want to represent you guys. I wanna go in there and tell them: “Hey, the lights by Esopus need to be fixed.” I want to be there to support Cather-ine and Angelique. I want to help them improve and represent RHSA to the best of my ability. I think I’m the best choice. I can do simple addition and math. I know Excel. Alana taught me some stuff, bless her soul She’s very sick right now. I went to her office hours, and I’ve also been working with her on the Community Service Committee, which is where I talked to her about this position. I know I’m in charge of DO’s, and I work closely with CAS which stands for Campus Auxiliary

Page 11: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

Services. I know I work with Jenn Slader and June Pott. I’ve also spoken to Dan Brogan and Jarred Slatky who helped me learn about this position. I think you guys should elect me. I’m here every night, I’m here in front of you right now shak-ing trying to show you that I’m the best choice. I yield to questions.

Question and Answer #2:

You said you have 2 majors and 2 possible minors. How do you plan on balancing academics and extracurriculars and hold this position?- I have the planner that they give out to first years, it’s nice and simple. I really

like it. Well, next year, I plan on getting a second planner from Tara Ses-tanovich. I would have one for academics, and one for extracurriculars. I know I do a lot of stuff. I know my weakness last year was that I didn’t have good time management skills. I’ve finally found the right formula this year. I’m in Relay for Life, NRHH, APO, and RHSA now, and I still manage to get 7 hours of sleep. That’s a great achievement, honestly. Also, I don’t plan on taking a lot of credits next year, mostly because the physics department is a wreck.

What exactly does the treasurer do?- They handle DO’s and make sure we have enough money for our programs. I’m

in charge of making sure everything gets paid. We pay the SAM if we need the SUB to open early, print services for posters, and advancement checks. We give out money and make sure everyone gets their money. It’s just a lot of money work, basically.

How would you make the most of your budget?- I would do a budget breakdown similar to Alana’s. For funding requests: I would

ask for a budget breakdown with specifics so I can give it out to all of you guys. I think it would really help out in figuring out how to effectively lower prices. If it was $100 for advertising and $200 for food. You know where it’s going, and you know where to lower it. I’d like to have that for every single funding re-quest, because it would be really helpful to you guys.

What is your weakness and how do you plan on overcoming it?- I’m a workaholic. I love working, mostly because I have nothing better to do

with my time. I’m working on time management, and it’s been really on point. RHSA is such a big organization with so many students. Not to hold this organi-zation to a high caliber would be a dishonor.

What would you talk to the hall treasurers about?- I would tell them how a budget breakdown works, and I would make sure they

understand where everything goes. Some halls have problems with microwaves and other things like that; I would make sure they know that they can use their budget to fix these things.

What past experiences do you have that qualify you for this position?- I work on the Community Service Committee with Alana. I see her a lot, and I’ve

asked her a lot of questions about what goes on. I’ve seen her sign DO’s and bal-

Page 12: Web viewresidence hall student association. associate council meeting. march 14, 2016. sub 62/63. call to order 9:01 pm. mystery activity 9:01 pm. we ate some pie

ance the budget and go to CAS. I’m also a mathematics major, so I know a lot about mathematics.

Who else have you spoken to about this position?- In addition to Alana, I also spoke to Dan Brogan and Jarred Slatky. When I asked

Dan what he would’ve changed about his experience, he said he would’ve used a system for handing in receipts. For example, everyone would give in their re-ceipts on Tuesday and I’d hand them in on Thursday. Jarred told me to be on point, organized, and be able to work with CAS super well.

What have you learned from being on this e-board, and what would you change next year?- This organization showed me how to be a student leader. I’ve learned that peo-

ple come to you with problems, and you need to learn how to respond in these situations. You need to know what they need.

Why do you want the treasurer position?- I’ve been thinking about running for e-board since last semester. Our first week

here, I thought to myself hey, I’m gonna run for president next year! My second week here, I decided I was gonna run for vice president instead! A month in, I decided I really needed to sit down and think about what I’d be able to do. I thought about which positions best fit my schedule, and that’s treasurer and his-torian. I can work in doing checks and things in my free time, and I can also work in events and e-board and AC meetings. I know I can do this position.

What do you like about the current e-board, and what’s something you want to change?- I like how close we are. I’ve never been this close to 7 other people before. I’ve

always been close to 2 or 3 other people, and being this close with 7 people is amazing. I also feel so close with our advisors, so I’d like to maintain that close-ness and bond. As for something I would change…let’s go out more guys. I see you on campus all the time, but let’s all go out to Oasis together. Hopefully I’ll have a car next year, I’ll take you all to my Dad’s restaurant.

Are you ready to take on the responsibility of paying the phone bill?- Yes. I love talking to people and I’m ready to pay for our phone bill.

What motivated you to want to invest in an Adobe account?- I’m the PR now, and I’ve noticed that it’s difficult that we don’t have one. Sam

Han was the PR last year, and he gave me his CD to download Photoshop since we don’t have the funds to buy an account right now. Last semester, our good friend Meryl from NRHH came to the office to use Photoshop for something and it didn’t work. We had to download a free Adobe trial and it was great. Having an Adobe account will be really beneficial for future PR’s as well as other e-board members when they have to make shirts.

Discussion:

- We just wanna point out that Elee said she was meticulous, but her application was full of typos.

- Rui also had his fair share of typos, too.- Rui seems busy, but he’s able to work it out now being on this e-board, and

he’d be able to do it again.- Rui’s idea about clubs submitting a budget breakdown for funding requests is

a really good idea and I support it.- Rui had good ideas for next year, and he was prepared in that way. Elee

seemed more prepared in knowing the duties of being treasurer. - In reference to previous comments, Rui’s ideas were about the specific posi-

tion as well as general e-board things. Elee had ideas for the e-board but not her position. She had more general stuff, meanwhile Rui really thought about everything.

- Rui has had more experience on the RHSA e-board.- Rui said he’s prepared to put RHSA before all of his other obligations.- Even though Elee said she’s working on fixing it, she still seems very stickler

like. I’m not sure what her response will be if she gets frustrated by unorga-nized people. Rui said he’s more fluid and seems more open and willing to work with people.

- They’re both very passionate.- In reference to previous comments, Elee said in her application she has been

working on not being a stickler and Hall Gov has opened her up to different kinds of people.

HALL CONCERNS 10:39 PMNone.

STUDENT CONCERNS FOLLOW-UP 10:39 PMAt the last PresCab meeting, Michelle Halstead, the VP of Finance, talked about the budget for the upcoming year. She asked Ariana to ask all of you what you want to see in your hall. They try to put something new in the halls every year. They’ve done cable channels and the texting service for laundry in the past. If you have any suggestions about what you want to see in your hall next year, let Ariana know.

Sometimes people can’t sleep because they’re worried about them being on.Bevier: back to my vending machine idea: when you return a book, you get an-other book back- Ariana: That’s called a library.

STUDENT CONCERNS 10:44 PM

Bouton: Our campus is supposed to be “sustainable”, but why are Wooster’s lights on 24/7? The building isn’t even open yet, why do the lights always need to be on.Ridgeview: Similar to that, in some of the new buildings, like Ridgeview, you can’t shut the lounge lights off all the way. And if your room is right near the lounge….it’s a problem.Jarred: A lot of the big maps posed around campus aren’t updated to include Ridgeview.Bouton: What did you say about water cups last week?- Nester’s and Oscars have cups that they’ll give you if you just want water. It may

depend on the day if they don’t have them when you ask.Bouton: Can you see if there’s a way to get feminine products in Shop24?- There are some in the vending machines in Has. There are also tampons in

Shop24, but you have to look really hard for them.Rui: There’s a light next to the observatory that’s always on, but the observatory needs complete darkness in order for it to work. If they could give us the power to turn it off, that would be cool. You can’t see the stars.Ridgeview: This is probably just a new building thing, but Ridgeview’s address isn’t registered yet. Like when I type in “1016 Hawk Drive”, nothing shows up.Bliss: The Esopus lights turn off randomly and it’s creepy.Esopus: One of the lights is fixed, but only one of them. They turn off when you walk past them.

OPEN FLOOR 10:50 PM

Bouton: The mail room will be open during break, and we’ll hold everything, so don’t worry about it.Bevier: The puke in front of Hasbrouck is finally clean, so thanks for that!Ashley: Hey everyone, I’m the president of NRHH. We’re currently taking nomina-tions for members, but right now only RD’s and chapter members can nominate people. If you know someone who deserves to be in it, let me know so I can con-tact them and tell them someone thinks they’d be good in NRHH.Lenape: Hi, I’m Chloe and I’m the president of NASA. Tomorrow, we are having a private planetarium show presented by Rui! If you wanna come out and support him and us, it’s at 8pm tomorrow at Coykendall. You can sign up with me after the meeting!NRHH: I’m reporting something from the president of the ASL club. On Thursday, they’re having a meeting at 8pm in SUB409, and they’ll be teaching party signs.

Bevier: This Wednesday at 12pm in Vandenberg 112 will be a Toast Master meet-ing. It’s a public speaking club, and we encourage all of you to join. It helps teach a skill that not a lot of people have.Gage: Hi everyone! I’m Mandy and I’m a student ambassador. If you’re interested in applying, applications are due Wednesday. If you’re interested in being a part of CREW which is the volunteer aspect of being a student ambassador, we’re having a GI/training meeting on March 30th, and they’ll be doing mock tours the week after.Rui: I just wanna give another big congratulations to Mike. Also, I wanna see him cry, so I’m gonna give a speech about him. The first time I met Mike was last year when he was running for NCC, and I thought to myself, “Why should I vote for this guy?!”. Well, he was the only person who knew the acronyms, so I voted for him. The next time I spoke to Mike is when I went to Mini’s 2015. We were in a hotel room talking about March Madness, Jarred was there. We shared a bed and cud-dled excessively, sorry Ashley. The third time I spoke to him is when I won PR, and I had the opportunity to work so closely with him. I’ve seen him walk to his field-work for student teaching at 8am. He’s done all these amazing things, like staying up until the early hours of the morning writing a bid. Me and a certain NCC-IT went out and bought you the last stuffed orca from Stop and Shop because you’re killer. Congrats again, Mike.Ariana: All of you are crazy and I love it.Crispell: I can’t follow that, but honestly I wanna see Mike cry more. Crispell is having our egg hunt this Wednesday at 6. There’ll be lots of candy and other things.Bliss: This Wednesday at 5, we’ll be watching If I Stay, and we’re gonna have chocolate and ice cream.Lenape: This Wednesday at 8pm somewhere in the SUB we’re watching Wall-E!Bevier: We’re all in Hall Gov; let’s talk about government. You need to register to vote by March 25th if you want to vote in the primaries. If you’re an American citi-zen, please go vote. It doesn’t even matter who you vote for, just please go vote.Mike: Shoutout to everyone I mentioned in the NCC report. I can’t wait to work with everyone and have a kickass conference. If you’re gonna be around in New Paltz from March 10-March 12 2017 and you wanna help out with conference, ask me or our volunteer chair Raine and we’ll work something out.Gage: Tomorrow at 6pm we’re having an alcohol awareness program with Jeop-ardy and candy and stuff.

PASSING OF MOLLY THE MOOSE 10:58 PMRidgeview put a caution tape bow on her, because “we see a lot of caution tape in our building on the side door…on the elevator…and we love it”. They’re passing her to Crispell!
