To observe the world around you differently. To experiment with composition in order to create a range of effective ‘line’ photographs Learning Task: During your KS3 art lessons you have learnt about the 7 elements of art: line, shape, tone, form, colour, pattern and texture. Each week we are going to explore similar elements and how they can be explored through photography. Throughout this project you MUST send your photographs to Miss Gay, this can be done from a computer or a mobile phone. You should attach up to 5 photos on each email and ensure you are attaching the jpeg not a thumbnail or screen shot. Once we are in school we can explore digital editing and put together a project PowerPoint. Explore the photographic element ‘Line’ FIRST – Look at the composition.pdf, think about which technique(s) will work well with line. Write down your thoughts, ideas and reasons why, this should be typed in a word document (AO3). NEXT – Take a look around your environment, this could be your room, house, garden, street, or a different location like out on a walk. Look closely and see what type of lines you can spot (curved, straight, diagonal, horizontal etc.) THEN – Plan and take your line photographs. You need to take a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20. In your word document, write down which of your images you consider the best and why. FINALLY – Email your word document and photographs to Miss Gay. Key questions: Other than ‘line’, is there a theme that connects your images? Which is your best and why?
