STIRRER SPOON

As the 2019 recipient of the STIRRER spoon, I thought I should review my peers and perhaps jog some fond (or otherwise) memories. Firstly, I note on the spoon “Cowie Award”. George certainly pressed a few people’s buttons over the years.

2019 CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Club’s Christmas party was held at the Coolamon Hotel this year with 55 adults and 2 children attending which was an excellent roll-up. Members departed the Club Rooms at 5.30pm and travelled to Coolamon via Millwood Road and returned via Coolamon Road.

Willing members contributed $1 each for a chalk mark on the Fairlane’s front wheel with the Hansons winning the prize pool of $21, their mark being at the bottom of the wheel upon arrival at Coolamon.

IanH announced the winners for Event Attendance being Rob (3rd), Brian (2nd), and ChrisB (1st). IanH also urged members to fill out event attendance forms if

they wanted to be in the running for next year’s prizes.

Voting for the Leading Light Trophy was wide spread. Pam Tarlinton pipped all other contenders right at the post with a flurry of absentee votes. Congratulations Pam.

Gerald handed over the Stirrers Spoon to Stu, citing Stu’s article

in Reflection requesting cotton wool to wrap his brother in for the trip to the Bendigo Swap (Rob broke his arm at Bendigo in 2018) as the deciding factor.

LABOUR PAINS

“Just relax,” the hospital staff kept telling Jim, but to no avail. His wife was in labour and he was a nervous wreck.

After what seemed like a week, a nurse came out with the happy news, “it’s a girl!”

“Thanks be to God!” said Jim. “At least she won’t have to go through what I just went through.”

“Bon bon humour!”
