Reception - James for being such a kind friend and helping others without an adult asking him to! Stanley for trying really hard with his lunches this week! Year 1 - William A for bringing in a super conker for our topic. Preston for being a super asset to our school. Year 2 - Archie for being brilliant in Maths and helping other children with their work. Theo for brilliant perseverance when writing about ‘The Scarecrow’s Wedding’. Year 3 - Amelia and Monty who both really impressed Mrs Gemmell this week with their positive attitude and determination to complete even the most demanding tasks. Year 4 - Magnus for fantastic observations in science. Chloe for showing a fantastic attitude to work. Year 5 - Edward for being a great role model to others. CJ for great scientific vocabulary. Year 6 - Maizie for an amazing start to Year 6, completing our maths challenge and putting herself forward for everything. Alice for getting off to a flying start in Year 6.

We have had the most wonderful start to term, and I have felt so privileged to be able to share the children’s first steps in their new classes, and in some cases school. There have been so many wonderful examples of children showing determination, resilience and perseverance—all pushing themselves to be the best they can be. It is a fabulous atmosphere around school, and I can’t wait to see our children develop over this academic year.

Miss Nicholas and I are so delighted with the way our new Reception starters have taken to life at Kingstone; they were even ready to come to their very first assembly today, and represented their class beautifully. They are happy,

inquisitive learners, and loved meeting their Giant African Land Snails!

We quite literally ‘launched’ our value of HOPE this week, with our fabulous Hope Balloons! Everyone in the school wrote down their hope which included immediate and long term hopes for our friends, families, school and community. Mrs Gemmell asked me to think of a hope for this academic year, so my balloon was a hope for continuing to build a happy, co-operative school, working together to be the best we can be; we’ve certainly started superbly with that!

And finally, if you shop in Aldi, they are running a promotion called ’Aldi’s Kit for Schools’, giving stickers for schools to help us get sports kits and enter a competition for £20,000. We’d really love it if you could send any stickers our way to help us out!
