WDV Depreciation key for remaining life 01-Aug-2014 08:45We are having WDV/reducing balance method for depreciation. There was different WDV depreciation rates

defined in the Companies Act for different asset classes.

Now new Companies Act, 2013 has defined useful life of different classes of assets

e.g. Plant & Machinery 15 years, Building 30 years, computer 3 years, etc. Residual value shall be 5% of

acquisition value.

Example: Net Book Value 10000 on 31.03.2014

Residual Value 5% & Remaining useful life 10 years

Dep Percentage to cal by system = 1-((5/100)^(1/10)) = 25.89%

Therefore we have created new depreciation key as below

But the depreciation amount in all year is same as per SLM method. We want calculation as below; pls suggest

how to achieve the same

Change you multilevel metod from 01 to 24 (net value) and check the depreciation behaviour.

When i try to change depreciation key by changing multilevel method 024 system giving error message.

When you are calculating depreciation based on useful life, the percentage will not be allowed in multi-level

method. You may have to create the new multi-level method and specify the base value as 24 and assign it to

your new depreciation key.

In this way, you can achieve the solution expected.

I have all ready assigned the 001 multilevel method to depreciation key which has base method 24.

But i am not getting the desired results depreciation is same in all the years it is SLM.

HI,

On one hand you requirement is life base, so why are you maintining percentage in multilevel method.

Check you base method as well it should be life base i.e. 0011.

Do small configuration steps. as below:

Choose Change over method 5

Now create on new entry define 2nd phase Change over with in planned life

Define bade method 0017,prd control and multilevel method , no change over.

Check the result of the depreciation behaviour.

ticke mark for remaining life.

Pl follow the following customization settings to solve your problem.

Create a new multilevel method as under.

Acq year-9999,year-999,base value-24,Per-45.07197 as per your requirement in the table.

Actually you require WDV method having rate of dep-45.07197%.

Do not use any check box in rem life or anything in reduct.

Then save the multilevel method.

Then create a dep. key as under.

Base method-0014 which is already a standard method in sap

Declining balance-001 Which is also a standard method in sap

Period control as per your requirement

Then the multilevel method as created above.Activate the key.

Then assign the key to asset master in AS01.

Useful life 05 years as per your requirement. Give dep start date. Save

Then purchase the same asset having value of Rs.1,00,000/-.

Go to AW01N and see your requirement is fulfilled.

Pl Reward point if i am right.

This is work around solution which we are currently using.

In this solution we have to create as many Key base on asset useful life.

If i have 10 assets with different useful life then i have to create 10 different keys which i don't want.

behavior not as SLM.

Even i followed the given changes in note 2052506 but it works well in SLM method not in WDV as in note

there is no % maintained in multi level method.

Have u got the solution for WDV method? if yes do let us know.

even i facing the same issue... i have asset for useful life 60 yrs and expired 15 years. now when i created

a new dep key and assigned to dep master... in aw01n.. comparision tab shows blank amounts rather than

calculating on wdv method
