    DS 02-527 (NES527) 440 V 105C

    Application

    Fire resistant cable for power, control, lighting use, etc., in military vessels where the cable is required to retain circuit

    integrity in the event of a fire, for emergency lighting, alarms, shutdown systems etc. Incorporates LFH (Limited Fire Hazard)

    sheath for reduced levels of smoke and toxic fumes in the event of a fire.

    Specifications

    In accordance with DS 02-527

    Conductors: Stranded Class 2 tinned copper conductors

    to BS EN 60228

    Insulation:

    Up to & including 16mm2 - silicone rubber insulation to

    BS7655 + fibre glass braid

    and lacquer

    25mm2 and above - silicone impregnated

    glass tapes

    Core Identification: Cores shall be number printed

    Outer Sheath: Black LFH (Limited Fire Hazard) outer

    sheath to DEF61-12 part 31. In addition, the outer sheath

    also displays the following characteristics:

    Minimum oxygen index: 30%

    Maximum HCL emission @ 800C: 0.5%

    Flame retardant to BS EN 60332-3-23 NMV 3.5

    (IEC60332-3-23 Category B) as a minimum

    Meets 3 hour 750C fire test (identical to IEC60331)

    Voltage Rating: 440 V

    Temperature Rating: 105C maximum conductor

    operating temperature

    N.B. Cables also retain a degree of flexibility under

    weatherdeck conditions of -30C

    also displays the following characteristics:

    Minimum oxygen index: 30%

    Multicore armoured cables for power circuits in HM surface ships and vessels. Incorporates LFH (Limited Fire Hazard)

    insulation and sheath for reduced levels of smoke and toxic fumes in the event of a fire. For use in fixed applications and

    suitable for use where fuel, lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids and water are present.

    Conductor: Stranded Class 2 tinned copper conductors

    to BS EN 60228

    Insulation: Dual layer LFH insulation to DS 02-526

    Core Identification: Cores shall be number printed

    Inner Sheath: Black LFH inner sheath toDEF61-12 part 31

    Galvanised steel wire braid armour (minimum 0.61

    filling factor)

    Outer Sheath: Black LFH outer sheath to DEF61-12

    part 31. In addition, the inner and outer sheath alsodisplay the following characteristics:

    Minimum oxygen index: 30%

    Maximum HCL emission @ 800C: 0.5%

    Flame retardant to BS EN 60332-1-2 for completed cables

    with individual conductor size less than 4mm2.

    BS EN 60332-3-23 NMV 3.5 (IEC60332-3-23 Category B)as a minimum, for completed cables with individual

    Multicore lightweight thin-wall insulated cables for power, lighting, control, communication and instrumentation circuits in HMsurface ships and submarines. Incorporates LFH (Limited Fire Hazard) insulation and sheathed for reduced levels of smoke and

    toxic fumes in the event of a fire. Suitable for use in fixed or flexible applications where fuel, lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids

    and water are present.
