The emphasis is on participation, learning and teamwork, not competition. Youth might learn about nutrition while helping to pre-pare simple snacks; learn about soil science while planting seeds; and learn about animal science and health while helping with livestock or horse grooming and feeding with supervision.
The 4-H Cloverbuds Program provides opportunities for older youth to mentor younger youth to learn, to be proud of successes and experience challenges and failure gracefully. Teen Leadership allows 4-H members to increase their life-skills, while establish-ing guidelines for Cloverbuds to grow as future 4-H members.
With 4-H Cloverbuds safety comes first, and all of the activities are developmentally appropriate for this age group.
