On Friday, the West Shamokin Wolves (4-5) varsity football team traveled to Northern Cambria for their final Heritage Conference game of the season.

Though the Wolves did not get the win, losing 27-24 on Friday to the Colts, they are still heading to the playoffs after their final regular season game against Meyersdale.

At Northern Cambria, the Wolves fell behind 13-0 in the first and after three more quarters they could not come back all the way for the win.

When the teams headed to the locker room for halftime, the Colts were leading 27-16. West Shamokin’s Tyler Lightcap had two TD’s after the first half - scoring one on the ground and throw-ing another to Drew Orlosky. The Wolves also converted a pair of two-point conversions by Dan Goldstrohm and Jacob Szul.

West Shamokin finished the game out by holding the Colts off of the scoreboard, but falling just short. The final touchdown by the Wolves was a rushing touchdown scored by Jaiden Haswell and a two-point conversion throw to Orlosky from Lightcap to make the score 27-24.

Right now, the Wolves have clinched a playoff berth for the second straight year - however they still have one last regular sea-son game to play.

No Tax Increase Expected in FC...plan could actually take part of the road rehabilitation projects for next year.”
