Symptom 

The VM Parameters Setup fails at Bytecode Adapter Setup with the following warning:

Updating the VM Parameter is not supported on systems runningSAPJ2EE7.10. Please enable the following VM parameters and check SAP

Note797147.

Environment 

SAP Solution Manager 7.1SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1

Reproducing the Issue 

1. Open Transaction SOLMAN_SETUP2. Go to Managed Systems Configuration 3. Select managed SID

4. Go to section Configure Automatically  5. Go to step Byte Code Adapter Installation 6. Click button Execute Selected  7. Click link for details

Cause 

The JVM parameters must be set manually via config tool for SAP Netweaver 7.10 systems.

Resolution 

Use the J2EE config tool to set the JVM parameters as given in the warning of the setup.

Fill in the parameters as follows:

Instance/VM Parameters/System:Name Value 

com.wily.introscope.agent.agentName (as given in warning) com.wily.introscope.agentProfile (as given in warning) 

Instance/VM Parameters/Additional:

-javaagent:... (as given in warning)

 After saving the update, please restart the instance to activate the changes.
