We took a short trip to Reno, NV
during September 15th
-20th
. We went onwhat we call a vision trip, with the purpose
being to interact with students, rejuvenate
our spirits and give us a better idea of what
our life will look like once we report to ourassignment.
Wednesday night, I attended a Biblestudy for freshmen guys. Cowboy Bob(staff), two students (Daniel and a freshman
named Casey who accepted Christ fourweeks ago), and I spent some time reading
Luke 7:36-50 and learning about God’samazing forgiveness. I can’t describe how
awesome it was to look at the faces of Danieland Casey and see them really thinking about
what Jesus was saying in the passage.
Later that day, I sat in as Bob met
with a guy named Cody. Cody is another
freshman at the University of Nevada Reno and is a history major. Bob wentthrough some follow-up material called
Life Concepts, and this particular lesson
was titled: Stepping from Feelings of
Unworthiness to Forgiveness.
The next morning we met up withthe leaders of some other ministries at
UNR for a prayer walk around campus.
While walking around UNR, I talked to
Bob about what the students were like. Hesaid that they were very friendly and open
when he has initiated spiritual
conversations with them. The thought of that got me excited, knowing that when we
report to campus Rachel and I are going to
get to spend our days sharing Jesus with
these students!

- Please pray as the Campus Crusade staff at UNR build up student leaders, teaching
them how to disciple other students.
- Pray that freshmen will continue to get involved with the Campus Crusade
movement.
- Rachel’s dad is doing great, and the anti-seizure medication is working! Thank you
for praying for him.
Probably the best day of our trip was the “CRU Day
of Fun.” The staff and 15Campus Crusade students spent
that Saturday at Lake Tahoe. We first played bocce ball onthe beach. I was partnered with Jason, and it was a lot of fun
getting to know him more.
When the game was over, we sent the students on a
scavenger hunt. They split into teams and had to run around
a local shopping center asking the business employees forvarious objects they had to collect, such as a blue M&M, a
chocolate chip and a little plastic spoon. Rachel teamed up
with Kristen and Amanda and they were the first place
winners.
Later that evening, we sat around the campfire asRyan Cleveland (staff) spoke on Matthew 19:16-23 andtalked about letting go of things we hold on to and giving
God complete control of our life. Ryan then gave the
students the chance to confess to the group what they were
holding onto. It was heartbreaking to hear about what theywere struggling with, but at the same time, incredible to see
them be so vulnerable with each other. We feel so privileged
that God has called us to minister to these students.
From both of us,
Brad
