West Medica

West Medica feels strongly that innovation is the key to a brighter future and improves the quality of life for everyone. Development of “Vision” solutions for digital microscopy is a top priority and the main focus of West Medica.

Technology is an increasingly influential factor in many fields as new methods are established every day and that’s the reason why West Medica always tries to be one-step ahead. New analytical procedures are regularly introduced onto the market and as a result customers are often looking for solutions to keep up-to-date on the latest scientific developments.

Our market experience and extensive knowledge through research and close cooperation with end-users and field specialists allow us to develop and deliver high quality products. Throughout the years West Medica has participated in numerous congresses and exhibitions, as well as organized many seminars, workshops and master classes. We strongly feel that through Vision solutions we share our knowledge and experience with the world.

Continuous analysis and evaluation of our customers’ demands as well as close observation of market trends secures routine expansion of our product portfolio. We develop systems for specific applications that can be grouped in 6 categories. Namely: hematology, microscopy, cytogenetics, quality control, clinical laboratory and general medicine. Each system is a result of company’s field experience and extensive research as well as analysis of customers’ needs. To cater for individual necessities of each client, our systems are flexible enough to satisfy those requirements.

Our product portfolio, at this moment, includes complete systems for:

1. blood cell image analysis (Vision Hema)2. analysis, reports and management of digital albums in microscopy

(Vision Album, Vision Report, Vision Bio)3. analysis, reports and management of digital albums in fluorescence

microscopy (Vision Epi)4. chromosome analysis (Vision KaryoFISH)5. internal laboratory quality control (Vision QC)6. urine analysis (Vision Uri+)7. sperm analysis (Vision Sperm+)8. dermatoscopy (Vision Derma)9. ophthalmoscopy (Vision Omega)10. digital cameras, software and instruments

Digital microscopy

Digital microscopy is a digital environment for managing and analyzing microscopy data, which is obtained using a microscope, a camera, software and a computer.

Digital microscopy allows you to attain qualitative and quantitative results, which are either impossible to receive by other means or cost and time consuming.

Improve your daily work

Close attention to an absolute completion of our product means that each step in a Vision system is closely supervised. Hardware production and delivery, software development and testing, installation of the system, user training, consultation and after-sales service and maintenance are most significant to us. Help and support of each client is always a priority. Success of our customers is seen as our own and that is why we do our best to exceed their expectations by ensuring market competitiveness and long-term performance of each system.

HardwareDevelopment and manufacturing of hardware (microscopes, digital cameras and other instruments to complement/simplify the analysis procedure) consume significant amounts of resources in both energy and materials. There are ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness of operation as well as time and cost of the running. All elements of the system are mutually compatible to use in conjunction with one another.

SoftwareSoftware is necessary for an error-free operation of the system. Storage of digital samples presents users with an option of extensive documentation and a possibility of network capabilities. Improved algorithms guarantee quality control and unbiased analysis results. An overall platform for all software makes it easy to upgrade very quickly. Every system can be reconfigured at a later point in time to support a different set of tasks.

Installation and user trainingWe don't believe in «one-size-fits-all» and for that reason trainings and workshops are frequently organized in one of our offices or at your site. Our professional in-house training experts design tailored programs reflective of your individual practice and the unique end-user tasks. Requests and wishes of our partners form the basis of cooperation.

After-sales supportOur wide distribution network allows us to provide our customers with constant product availability and an efficient after-sales service with qualified personnel. Our specialists are glad to share their extensive experience and expertise. Mutually beneficial understanding and investment in relations with any professional are always important for us, with no differences for big or small business. Our sales network continuously broadens, as we always search for new distributors.

Vision systems are designed to maximize the use of advanced technology features and capabilities, optimise and standardize workflow and staff productivity as well as foster professional growth. Specialists that are looking for professional development and recognize new digital technologies are presented with unlimited resources in their field.

Your friendship and trust are very significant to us and our goal is to provide you with high quality and professional support.

Workflow automation and standardization

Preparation of microscopic blood smear slides

One of the most important analysis stages in a laboratory is the pre-analytical phase as it affects the speed and quality of the analysis process. Use standardized tools to prepare and stain a blood smear.

Scanning and cell identification

Vision Hema automatically scans a microscopic sample, collects data for analysis, sorts blood cells and saves results in the database.

It’s much easier to view an automatically generated gallery of blood cells on the computer screen rather than to spend hours looking into microscope eyepieces. Vision Hema offers a wider cell differential count and the possibility to view cells provides an additional visual control if there LVDQHHGWRFRQ¿UPthe analysis

Blood cell validation

Validation

Identification of blood cells is primarily made according to the algorithms included in Vision Hema system, forming image galleries. After the scanning process for blood smear is completed, laboratory personnel performs the validation of analysis results, makes corrections if necessary and confirms the analysis results.

Tree of analysis objects

You can add new groups of blood cells for manual classification, place non-identified cells in these groups and carry out morphological measurements. Each folder can include unlimited number of sub-folders.

Multi-gallery mode

Working with several galleries simultaneously. Quicksort between the galleries.

Morphological analysis

Classify analysed objects using required criteria to generate a report. Select a required number of groups and define a measurement range for each one of them:

— size of selected objects— location— optical parameters— quantity

The system will measure and display results visually in a histogram form and breakdown the gallery into appropriate groups.

You can save frequently used methods to make them easily accessible in the future.

Morphological analysis

Morphological cell analysis is one of the most important parts in hematological research. Vision Hema system provides this possibility

Virtual sample preparation

Scanning of microscopic slides and generation of digital samples

A digital sample is indispensable when you have an object that can’t be seen entirely in the field of view with the required magnification — it is just not possible to see it completely without creating a “virtual sample”

I keep microscopic slides as digital samples RQP\RI¿FHFRPSXWHUI organize them the way I want and I always ¿QGZKDW,DPORRNLQJfor easily. Digital slides never fade or get damaged like the glass. I do not worry about breaking or losing it

Working with frames

The feature “show on slide” allows to find the requested field of view during repeated microscopy.
