DEPARTMENT OF ORAL MEDICINE AND RADIOLOGY

IDA-NATIONAL ORAL CANCER REGISTRY -MOU

VMSDC has signed MOU with Indian dental association head office for

national oral cancer registry from Feb 2020 for the period of one year.

As per this MOU the oral cancer cases which were diagnosed were registered

in cancer registry in the department of oral medicine and radiology of VMSDC

and the DATA are sending to the IDA head office

2019 data were send to the IDA head office

NOBLE BIO CARE IMPLANT CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME-MOU

VMSDC and Nobel bio care enter into the MOU to conduct the implant

certification programme once in a year for the interns, staffs and alumni of

VMS dental college.

The first MOU was signed in the year 2017 for the period from 26/06/2017 -

to 19/06/2018

The second MOU was signed in the year 2018 for the period from 24/04/2018

to 23/04/2019

The third MOU was signed in the year 2019 for the period from 24/12/2019

to 24/12/2020

Two batches was completed the program and the third batch was just started

in the month of January 2020.

The total participants benefitted by the programme:

First batch 2017-18 – 20 participants (7 faculty, 7 post graduates, 6 CRIs)

Second batch 2018-19 - 18 participants (2 faculty, 1 post graduates, 15 CRIs)

Third batch 2019-2020 - 12 participants (1 faculty, 7 post graduates, 4 CRIs)

DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRIC AND PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

GOVT.SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF & DUMB-MOU

MOU has been signed with “Govt. School for the Deaf and Dumb,”

Suramangalam, Salem on 14.11.2019 for a period of 3 years till 13.11.2022.

As the part of MOU Children’s day was celebrated with the hearing impaired

children as part of kid’s fest celebration. Oral hygiene instructions informed

to the principal who in turn explained to the children in sign language

A total of 48 children benefitted from this program.

A dental team comprised of 2 teaching faculty, 2 postgraduates and 4

students were participated.


KALPATHARU SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTRE-MOU

MOU has been signed with “Kalpatharu Special Education centre,” Chinna

Thirupathi, Salem on 21.08.2019 for a period of 3 years till 20.08.2022.

As per MOU a screening program had been conducted on 21.08.2019. The

children were provided with mouthwashes and oral hygiene maintenance

was explained to the parents and caretakers.

2 teaching faculty ,accompanied 5 students for this screening camp.

27 special children have benefitted from this screening program

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH DENTISTRY

GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL VEMBADITHALAM-MOU

Department of Public Health Dentistry of VMSDC has signed MOU under

Tamilnadu health system project public private partnership in government

hospital Vembadithalam Salem district from September 2010 to 2015 and

then the MOU renewed from September 2015 to 2018.

As per this MOU the department of public health dentistry of VMS dental

college established a new dental op in government hospital Vembadithalam

weekly twice Tuesday and Thursdays, sending a dental team comprising of

one dentist and 2 interns to serve the people.

From august 2019 the new MOU signed, under this full pledged upgraded

dental OP functioning full time with dedicated dental surgeon and two

interns. There by we extended our dental service to the nearby population.

A large number of under privileged people were benefited from this program.

DENTAL CHAIR SIDE ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM

SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND CAPABILITY ENHANCEMENT COURSE

MOU has been signed between VMSDC and Tamilnadu State IDA branch for a

period of two years from 2019 to 2021.

As per MOU VMSDC will provide chair side assistant training to the chair side

assistants of the IDA members

The program was inaugurated on 04.02.2020 and 20 participants were

benefitted

NEET PG ENTRANCE COACHING-2019 A memorandum of understanding was signed between VMSDC -constituent

college of VMRF deemed university and academy of excellences on

11/01/2019 for providing NEET MDS coaching classes for under graduate

students.

The classes were held on all Sundays from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm for 6 months

between May 2019 to September 2019.

The class schedule were informed well in advance to all the students the study

material were also provided in the soft copy.

Feedback of every class was obtained from the students. Periodic online

assessment test were conducted on every Fridays from 10/05/2019 along with

3 grand test which was held on 7/9/19, 10/9/2019, 13/9/2019.

Totally 59 students appeared for the NEET coaching of which 34 have cleared

the NEET exams conducted in Jan 2020

Milling of zirconia crowns and sintering of zirconia crown and observed the

CADCAM milling unit.

Dr.Nithin from confident dental lab gave demo and helped in hands on

BELOVED PARENTS PHYSIOTHERAPY AND SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST-MOU

MOU has been signed with “Beloved Parents Physiotherapy and Special

Educational Trust”, Hasthampatti, Salem on 16.10.2017 for a period of 3 years

from 16.10.2017 till 15.10.2020.

Regular screening programs have been conducted every 6 months from 2017

on various dates such as 16.10.2017, 23.07.2018, 07.03.2019, 21.08.2019 and

119 special children have benefitted from the MOU.

6 children have reported to the department for preventive and restorative

procedures that was done completely free of cost.

The teaching faculty of the department accompanied 5 students to the

screening camps.

BELOVED PARENTS PHYSIOTHERAPY AND SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST

DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS

DEPT. OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, SRI GOKULAM HOSPITAL-MOU

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Dept. of

Conservative dentistry and Endodontics, Vinayaka Mission’s Sankaracharyar

Dental College (VMSDC), whose address is Sankari Main Road, Ariyanur,

Salem and Dept. of Physiotherapy, Sri Gokulam Hospital, whose address is

Meyannur road, Meyyanur, Salem.

The purpose of this MOU is to establish the terms and conditions under which

the Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD), can be averted by prophylactic training

methodologies that were imparted to operator by skillful specialists

(Physiotherapist).

The effective date of this MOU is 27-11-2017 and valid till 27-11-2020.

Nine post graduate students from the Dept. of Conservative dentistry and

Endodontics were sent to Physiotherapy department of Gokulam hospital

(under the MOU signed) to get trained in prophylactic training methodologies

for Musculoskeletal disorders on 11-4-2018.

& THANGAM CANCER CENTRE

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Vinayaka Missions

Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC) has signed MOU with Thangam cancer

centre- Namakkal from November 2017 to November 2020 will be renewed

from December 2020.

As per this MOU the Oncosurgeons will be visiting the Department of OMFS as

per case demands for discussion and Oncosurgeries in relation Head and Neck

cancers.

This agreement is made for the benefit of the patients and for academic

purpose and a large number of patients with low socio-economic status were

benefited from this MoU.

From VMSDC, all 6 postgraduates and the faculty members are part of this

programme.


PALAMALAI-TRIBAL VILLAGE-MOU

Department of Public Health Dentistry of VMSDC has signed MOU with

Blessing Youth Mission Palamalai from November 2017 to November 2020

As per this MOU the department of public health dentistry of VMSDC

monthly once, fourth Sunday sending a dental team comprising of one post

graduate and 1 intern to serve the people.

A large number of tribal population were benefited from this program.


DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY- VMSDC

& VIMS Hospital


Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC) has signed MOU with VIMS Hospital

from March 2017 to March 2020 will be renewed from April 2020.

As per this MOU, Concession charges were fixed for the admission of patient in

Semi Private Ward, which is inclusive of OT charge, Anesthetist Fee, Room Rent

and In house consultant Fees, Nursing charge, Investigations and Food.

lady of the poor charitable trust, Anbu Illam, Nattamangalam, Salem district

from November 2016

As per this MOU the department of public health dentistry of VMSDC weekly

interns to serve dental needs for the people.

Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC) has signed MOU with Dwijan

Microvascular Research and Training Centre - Chennai from October 2016 to

October 2019.The next renewal of the MOU for the period 2019 -2022 is done.

As per this MOU the Microvascular Surgeon will be visiting the Department of

OMFS as per case demands for discussion and Microvascular Reconstruction

& Himalaya Drug Company- Bangalore


Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC) has signed MOU with Himalaya on

23 September 2017.

As per this MOU Septilin tablets will be given for assessing its action on

immunity. A study has been conducted and the blood samples were assessed

before and after the administration of the Drug. Results showed increased levels

of Ig G levels and WBC count.

It was concluded that tablet Septilin containing Tinosporacordifoliaas its major

ingredient, was clinically effective and safe, for increasing theactivity of the

immune system. It might be used as an adjunct in patients undergoing surgery

toimprove their post-operative wound healing.


ADYAR CANCER INSTITUTE (WIA) FOR TAMILNADU ORAL CANCER REGISTRY -MOU

VMSDC has signed MOU with Adyar cancer institute (WIA) for Tamilnadu oral

cancer registry from Feb2015 to 2018 for the period of three year.

As per this MOU the oral cancer cases which were diagnosed were registered

in cancer registry in the department of oral medicine and radiology of VMSDC

and the DATA are sending to Adyar cancer institute (WIA) for Tamilnadu oral

INDIAN ACADEMY OF FORENSIC ODONTOLOGY (IAFO)-MOU

VMS dental college has signed an MOU with Indian association of Forensic

Odontology for registering in National register of Forensic Odontology from

2015 to 2018.

According to this MOU, Digital panoramic radiographs were sent by email

monthly from the year 2015 to 2018.

Department of Public Health Dentistry of VMSDC has signed MOU with LOTUS

ORPHANGE from JULY 2015 for the period of one year.

As per this MOU the department of public health dentistry of VMSDC monthly

home and deliver comprehensive oral health care to the needy children.

dental surgeon’s posts in various dental clinics in these regions

As per the vacancy positions details given by the IDA Salem- Dharmapuri-

Krishnagiri branch, the details of the above has been displayed in our college

placement cell notice board.

In the year 2015, a total no. of 10 dental surgeons has been placed as temporary

assistant dental surgeons in various dental clinics in and around Salem.
