February 1: Mark 1:23–28  23Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, 24and he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God." 25But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" 26And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. 27They were all amazed, and they kept on asking one another, "What is this? A new teaching — with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him." 28At once his fame began to spread throughout the surrounding region of Galilee.”Jesus has superiority over demons. By his word alone He sends out demons. Jesus is the ultimate authority because He is God. Therefore, as followers of Christ we are serving with authority. We can do the same: teaching, healing, forgiving, and serving. Be willing to sacrifice and serve God and see His power in changing lives and bring wholeness. Love God and do His work.

February 8: Mark 1:29–31 “29As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30Now Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. 31He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.”If you want to maximize God’s peace, favor, and blessings in your life you must: hush your demons, hold on to His hand, and honor the Lord with your service.

February 15: Mark 9:2–9 “2Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. 4And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. 5Then Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." 6He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. 7Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, "This is my Son, the Beloved listen to him!" 8Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more, but only Jesus.”Transfiguration is a gracious pledge that glorious things are in store for the kingdom of God. It speaks hope, peace, and comfort to us as we live for Christ. The glory at work in you is greater that the glory Peter, James and John saw on the mountain. You are being changed by the glory of Jesus Christ.

February 22 Mark 1:9–11 “9In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. 11And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."A very clear account of the three in one, yet separate. Jesus, in the water being baptized by John. The Holy Spirit descending like a dove for Heaven. The Father speaking over Him

Lego Club On Saturday, January 30, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the Lego Club began..This is a journey to build God’s word with Legos. Our first adventure was to build a home similar to the home Jesus was visiting when He healed a sick man who was lowered to Him

from the roof as told in Luke 5. Life was very different during Jesus’ time on the earth and we will learn how it happened and recreate this wonderful event. Each time we get together, we will go back in time and recreate a scene from the Bible. This club is for ages of 5 and 105.  Parents can drop their children off, or better yet, stay with your child and have fun together. NOTE: If your child is under 5 years of age and you wish to bring them, they are welcome, however, you must stay with your child at all times.Next meeting will be Saturday, February 21st at 5 p.m.

Our worship not only honors and magnifies God, but it is also for our own edification and strength.  Worship helps us develop a God-like and Christ-like character. We become like unto those we admire and worship.  When we worship God we tend to value what God values and gradually take on the characteristics and qualities of God, but never to His level.  As Philippians 2:5 says, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ."  How do we take on the mind of Christ?  In Romans 12:2 we read, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."  We renew our mind as we study and meditate on God’s word and worship Him.--Ron Boatwright

The New Interim Pastor’s Résumé

Rev. Dr. Earnest E. Tate4465 Wellington Shores Drive

Wellington, Florida 33449414-690-2166

I have assisted churches, state, and government agencies in an effort to provide spiritual guidance to the community. As part of my faith journey, I preach the Gospel, teach the unadulterated scripture, and administer the sacrament of Holy Communion. I have also journeyed with the people of the New Haven Community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin promoting affordable housing as defined by the community and not government, grants for low and middle income people to make improvements on their property, more structural after school program for our children, and work force programs for all and not a remnant of the community. I have assisted area school staff, business owners, non-profits, and residents with ways to be more accountable to the community. I am continuously defining ways to minimize the number of young people who are being incarcerated and developing ways to diminish residents and business owner’s fear of crimes.

Recent Accomplishments: Created a relationship with the community by canvassing more than 2000 homes with parishioners in

the neighborhood adjacent to Peace Lutheran Church. Created a radio broadcasting ministry on JOY1340 AM broadcasting sermons on Mondays after

Sunday Worship Service. Submitted a $98,000 proposal to the Greater Milwaukee Synod with an objective of lowering crimes,

incarceration rate of young people, and creating a safe environment while walking in the neighborhood.

Created a Bible Class facilitating the study of the Pentateuch, Gospels, and the Book of Acts. Certificates were given after each study.

Provided 2 Rekindle Workshops that reflected on Spiritual, financial, and physical congregational growth. Giving increased 50% from regular contributors.

Created a partnering relationship with 5 congregations within the Greater Milwaukee Synod. Article was written in the Living Lutherans (February 2013 and Faith in Action Journals (November

2013). A video was shown at the ELCA 2013 Assembly. Managed a community food pantry. Developed a Wednesday Bible Study. A second Bible Study (men) was created and facilitated by a

lay person. Developed a partnership with a colleague who has a cabin (home) adjacent to Lake Michigan. The

colleague provides her cabin for pastoral and congregation retreats.Accomplishments prior to ministry:Managed a $1 million dollar budget in the Radon Program and $12 million dollar budget in the Radiological Emergency Response Program with the Minnesota Department of Health.
