THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US BY GIFTS THAT RENEW OUR LIVES:

A. WISDOM AND UNDERSTAND.

These will renew and transform our lives. When we are renewed and transformed by the Holy Spirit. Our minds are no longer formed and controlled by the values of this world. Instead our

minds are enlightened by the values of the Word of God in the Scriptures. As the pattern of our way of thinking change, so too

will our desires, words and our actions change to that of the Gospel values: “Do not be conformed to this world, but betransformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God: what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

(Rom 12:2)

B. COUNSEL

The Holy Spirit who dwells within us will counsel us. With the Spirit within us we are given a new heart to enable us to repent and to experience a radical change of hearts; from one that is uncaring to one that cares, from being unconcerned to being concerned for those who hunger and thirst: “A new heart I will give you, a new Spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezek. 36:26)

C. FORTITUTE

The Holy Spirit will give us the strength to overcome alldifficulties and obstacles that prevent and discourage us fromserving God faithfully.

D. KNOWLEDGE

The Holy Spirit will teach us all things and remind us of all that Jesus had said: “THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHOM THE FATHER WILL SEND IN MY NAME, AND WILL TEACH YOU EVERYTHING AND REMIND YOU OF ALL I HAVE SAID TO YOU.’ Jn. 14:25,26. When we are faced with difficult decisions, discouraged and feeling helpless, the Holy Spirit will give us knowledge by speaking to us through the Scriptures to enlighten, console and to encourage us:

a. YOU SAY : “IT’S IMPOSSIBLE.” GOD SAYS: “ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.” Lk18:27

b. YOU SAY: “I CAN’T DO IT.” GOD SAYS: “YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS.” Phil 4:13

c. YOU SAY: “I DON’T KNOW.” GOD SAYS: “I GIVE YOU WISDOM.” 1 Cor. 1:30

d. YOU SAY: “I AM AFRAID.”GOD SAYS: “I HAVE NOT GIVEN YOU A SPIRIT OF FEAR”

E. PIETY

With the gift of piety we will have that very personal, loving and intimate relationship with God, we will have the desire to do his will, and find satisfaction and fulfillment in the service of God.

F. FEAR OF THE LORD

This does not mean to be afraid of God, but rather that we may have the fear of not being able to love God sufficiently, with all our minds and with all our hearts; and the fear of not willing to do His will.
