Golf-course designer Kyle Phillips is renowned for preserving and accentuating the essential character of a site, through his creative use of both natural and man-made landforms. Kyle is famous for his design of the Kingsbarns Links near St Andrews in Scotland, the immaculate parkland courses at The Grove in Hertfordshire, England and numerous projects in America. At Verdura, Kyle has created two world-class courses which reflect the rich traditions of the game.

Director of Golf Niall Cameron is a golf professional whose extensive experience includes golf-course design and golf club management. A former European Tour player, Niall has led golf operations at Lyford Club in the Bahamas, Turnberry in Scotland and at Royal St George’s in Kent, England. Niall is currently a member of the Golf Digest magazine world-course-rating panel.

Host venue of the European Tour Sicilian Open 2012, Verdura provides golf on a grand scale, with the personal service and attention to detail more usually associated with a private club. Designed to challenge golfers of all levels, the courses are built on spectacular golf-playing surfaces of the finest grasses and are maintained to the highest agronomic level.

The East Course is 6,686 metres long and the West Course is 6,692 metres from the championship tees. The 9-hole par-3 Course measures 913 metres. A Composite Championship Course of 6,707 metres has been created using holes from the East and West layouts.

Each hole on the East and West Courses has five tee positions. The minimum length of the East is 4,894 metres and that of the West is 5,120 metres. Tee times are arranged at 12-minute intervals to ensure free-flowing play. Every day, one of the courses is dedicated to two-ball play.

Our undulating East Course provides a truly memorable round of golf. Early highlights include the short par-4 3rd and the early water holes at the 5th and 6th, each with stunning outlooks. From the 13th onwards, the course turns seaward, plummeting and swooping across glorious links terrain. The best is saved for last, with the penultimate hole rising gently into the foot of a Sicilian hillside. The 18th is a fabulous par-4 closer, crashing from an elevated tee along the craggy coastline.

The beachside holes are the star attraction on our West Course. The sparkling Mediterranean first comes into view at the 8th and 9th, before returning for a 4-hole encore at the 15th. The 16th and 18th are beautiful two-shotters, while the 17th is dominated by watery backdrops. The 18th brings you home right along the shoreline, providing a rousing finish to an unforgettable round.
