HELLO OuT THERE!My name is Timo-Alexander Fleig and currently I work as a freelance graphic designer in Hamburg/Germany. I would like to show you some selected works of mine. But first I want to tell you some details about me.

SINCE OCTOBER 2011 I work as a freelancer under the name ELBKOPF. It‘s meaning is that I am connected to my home (therefore, „ELB“) and that my design is well thought out (therefore: „KOPF“). In short: thought-ful design from northern germany.

I‘vE LEARNED my CRAFT OvER

10 yEARS AGO as a DTP Operator. I went the traditional commercial route of a junior artdirector to a senior artdirector. Mostly I worked for clients like BMW, KIA or Porsche, but also Absolut Vodka or Sony Playstation are clients I worked with during my employment.

AS AN ARTDIRECTOR I COmE FROm PRINT DESIGN. There my focus was on BTL. But since I am free-lancing I almost work exclusively in online and corporate design jobs. Thats the reason why this portfolio is sorted by working fields.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.The task for Margon was to push their sales. The client wanted to position its water in the premium segment. So my idea was to create a clean layout looking high class while it does not loose its main message: It’s tasty and it’s fresh!

PROJECT INFORmATION:.The task was to invent an ad campaign for the client airberlin. The target group of airberlin is a younger one thats why I decided to visualize the whole campaign in an illustrative way. The idea of this campaign is that the holiday begins when the customer enters the stairway.

Roche released their new device for blood sugar measurement. The task was to create a campaign for this device. The message should be that it is hightech,light, small and beautiful. So here you see my work which won the pitch and was published like i created it for the pitch.

On the first anniversary of the car the owner gets this card as a regard of Porsche. The rim of the vehicle can be seen through the stanza of the title. The observer gets the impression that he looks at the bloom of a metallic flower.

// BmW EFFICIENT DyNAmICS BROCHuRE

PROJECT INFORmATION:.In this brochure every EfficientDynamic technology was presented through an analogy. The motives have been shooted by Jan Steinhilber. The brochure appeared as an insert in many different medias like for example the well known “spiegel” in germany.

The idea explaining new technologies to the consumer by using abstract visualisation already existed. My task was to add newer technologies to those which already existed and to merge them into a new layout.

Once the new motifs were matched I made supervision on the still shooting and put them into the layout.

Finally I designed the ad where the brochure will be stuck.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.We were briefed to develop a bulk mail that informs customers or interested people of BMW about the 1 series. To generate a high response the adressees have the chance to win a driver training.

This is a group work. First I created three different production techniques which could be used best for presenting the BMW 1 series and its three different models.

Then the creative director, my text colleague and I thought about where to put the content.

After the client has chosen a route I began to design the mailing, attending the production details and supervising the final art.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.Making passenger ship cruises much more prominent over 20 different shipping firms initiated the “cruising week 2008” where every cruising firm can place its own offer. My challenge was to produce this supersize format of the newspaper with all its production restrictions.

The idea to create a newspaper with special offers from different cruise enterprise was combined with impressions of special holiday destinations was made by our creative director and the client.

I made the complete design of the promotional materials. Starting from the core material the newspaper to the POS products.

At last I took a closer look together with the client at the printer for letting the production start!

// BmW 6 SERIES CONvERTIBLE

PROJECT INFORmATION:.For this job of the new BMW 6 series I created the keyvisual and afterwards layouted the design book. It was created with hardcover / softtouch paper / transparent paper / special varnish.

FORmAT: The format (opened) is set by the measurements of the BMW 6 series side view: 670 mm x 220 mm

my PERFORmANCE:.

This photobook is the result of the pitch layout for the complete “international BTL budget of BMW” which we won.

The task of the pitch was to create a design keyvisual for the release of the new BMW 6 series convertible. Its design is inspired by the liquid flow of water. So my idea was to build a waterstream which covers the car. BMW liked the visualisation so much that they gave us the complete budget.

Hereafter I created the concept and an overview for the design book. The idea was to show classic shooting material and to combine it with the close ups of the car. The close ups are covered by a trans-parent paper. On the transparent paper I composed further waterstreams. They covered the shape of the design details like for example the special form of the cars front lights. This should higlight the design of the car.

I did the complete creation like the idea, the composings and supervision on production and final art in close coordination with the client.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.This mailing was created especially for women. Therefore the layout was not exactly on the BMW Corporate Design. We worked with pastellic colours and the text was not so technical but more emotional. Everything has been created more into lifestyle.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.This Mailing shows the innovations of BMW in an easily understandable way. You see a usual route which customers drive e.g. to their work. There we highlight the techniques which work while you drive your BMW and you don‘t notice. The illustration also will be used in big showrooms as a 20 meter blow up.

In this work the creative challenge was to create a media which is entertaining and helps the customer easily to understand what hightech products are working while you are driving your BMW.

Thats why we have choosen an every day situation.Driving to work. Therefore we needed special illustration. I did the first sketch of the illustration to show the illustrator where things have to be positioned. Thereafter he started his work while I setup the artwork.

On the back of the folder I placed the detailed explanations of the techniques.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.For the BMW 7 Series we created a mailing that has the idea that the car is made for individual people. The headline concept plays with the thoughts which come up from individual people that drive this machine. The special of this mailing is its unusual widescreen format.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.The client loved the keyvisual of the newsletter. The idea was to present the brand new technique of 3D for home TVs. The keyvisual was made out of gfx from wipeout that explode out of the TV and come to real life. This visual made its way on the header of playstation.com!

mEDIA: - skateboard

This work is made for a snowboard label which unfortunately was never released. For this work I thought about what snowboarders like to show other people. Some of them like to show the beauty of their stunts or how cool their style looks.

Thats why I have choosen the headline „SHOW YOUR STYLE“. Then I thought about which animal has got the opportunity to turn out from something usual to something special. It occurred to me the peacock.

The composing is a mixture of photoshop and illustrator.

PROJECT INFORmATION:.For this illustration the idea is to swap the graphic visualisation. The illustration consists of two levels. The upper level shows the woman and the lower the environment. The woman is more technically designed. The background comes more abstract and spherical. Interesting that those different levels merge.

I started my career in germany/hamburg at a small dtp-agency called a.s.a.p. which was connected to the BBDO-network.

there i got the opportunity to get a dual-education. it included working half of the time in the agency and the other half studying for my design exam. the work as a dtp-operator taught me to get all the basics.

Next I changed the department inhouse from a.s.a.p. to the creative department of proximity.

i had the chance to change into the creative department because i layouted a route for a pitch and it won. in the creative team i worked supportive and responsibly for clients like siEmEns mobile, porsche, deutsche post, deutsche telekom and t-online.

01.08.2005 – 31.12.2008

Then it was time to change the agency. My next stop was TEQUILA\. It is the BTL agency of the TBWA\.

i took care of clients like yahoo, absolut Vodka, aida, bmW, lichtblick, lipton, niVEa, roche accu-chek and sony playstation. in this time i did many fotoshootings.

The TBWA\ recognised that one of my main clients (Roche Accu-Chek) gets a financial big player so they integrated me to them.

With my new position i was responsible for the advertisement of roche accu-chek worldwide.
