Towards independence, community living and mental health recovery

Uplands is set in spacious grounds on the outskirts of Fareham. It combines the space of a Georgian Manor House with an experienced and qualified staff team, to support people with the most complex mental health needs.

We have a strong track record in working both with people making the step down from more secure to open community settings, and with people who continue to experience treatment restive symptoms.

Our focus at Uplands is to deliver personalised and self-directed care. We use the Recovery Star to put the individual in charge of their care and support as far as is practically possible.

We believe that positive risk management has a central role in achieving this. And this belief is underpinned by our commitment to trying innovative approaches to mental health

rehabilitation aimed at challenging the notion of treatment resistance. Partnership and collaboration – clients, clinical teams and commissioners – make sure we stay focused on outcomes, and work with our local communities to ensure the best use of resources and achieve inclusion.

QualityUplands has a full and clear governance process which is supported by a nationally recognised, CQC registered provider of care.

Referrals and AdmissionsUplands can work with both people moving from more secure settings and those who continue to experience treatment resistive symptoms.

We will prepare an outline care package as part of the referral process and support to any funding application process.

As a hospital with on-site clinical input we can accept people subject to a Section under the Mental Health Act.

We can work with people with multiple care needs, provided the primary need is a mental health one.
