From The Pres’s Desk

Here’s hoping the groundhog was right and Spring is just around the corner. Sunshine and pleasant tem-peratures would be nice as we get into the new sea-son for racing and showing off our rides. The Chal-lenger is getting the finishing touches today as I get ready for the Dallas Autorama this coming weekend. Cowtown Mopars will have at least seven entries this year. Please come out and support our club and look at all the fine rides that will be on display. Maybe it will inspire you to join us next year. At the next two general meetings we will be taking nominations for the 2020 board members. If you would like to run for an office, you should nominate yourself or be nominated by someone. A second will be necessary to get on the ballot. The nominees so far are: Frank Smith, President; Tom Kelly, Vice President; Rene Kontak, Secretary; Kurt Schuster, Treasurer; JoAn Deering, Membership; Camille King, Activities, and Bill Boon, Newsletter. Appointed members of the board are: Don Deering, Race Team Coordinator; Ron Carroll, Show Team Coordinator, and Kirk Maisenbacher, Webmaster. You must be a current member to run and to vote at the March elections meeting. Our Spring car show will be April 25th at Summit Racing. Please volunteer for one of the many jobs available. Judging, registration, tee shirt sales, traffic and parking. Oh, and get your car ready for the show. We have several activities already lined up for this year, plus the opportunity to donate blood twice. If you haven’t joined in lately, please make an effort to be with us. We do have a lot of fun. It’s a pleasure to be associated with such great folks. Our next club meeting will be next Sunday, Februrary 16th at Spring Creek BBQ in Bedford. C U there.

Frank From the club get together at Pop’s Burgers in Waxahachie

ATTENTION IN THE PITS: TMCCC Racing starts March 22, at the MOTORPLEX Come out and help us win again. Ken Angyal (Kooky) will be cooking again. Yahoo ! Anyone racing for the first time contact me at 972-567-3139 If you are wanting to practice. We can go practice on Satur-day or Sunday at Xtreme Raceway Park. I am anxious to see who will be racing with us this year. You know we need all to participate because the other racing teams are trying to take our racing Championship away from us. Our team has been number 1 with the TMCCC for 18 years. Cowtown is looking forward to #19 with this year’s accomplishments. See y’all at the track.

CMPT won the Points Challenge for the 18th time in 2019, and he really appreciated all the CMPT members who came and raced, supported our team and also the TMCCC program. Any CMPT Club member can race with us. If you do race with us, it helps the Team earn points for that season. You may also choose to enter the TMCCC “Driver Rewards Program”. The cost is $ 30. for a year. In the “Driver Rewards Pro-gram” you will earn Driver Points for yourself, in addition to team points. At the end of each season we have a Banquet, with door prizes, and the Top 20 Points earners get recognized with Awards. Plus the Car Clubs that finished highest in points receive special recognition, and a Monetary Award ! In addition, the Top overall Points earner receives a Gold Card, which pays for all his entry fees for 2020 races. Greetings from this “Ole” Newsletter Editor: Bill Boon 2020 is starting off like it’s going to be a good year, and hopefully it will be much better than 2019 was, and I mean that for all of us. My 2019 racing year was barely okay, even though I finished 2nd in Electronics Class in TMCCC– we had lots of challenges with the Dart. We suffered a broken motor, which we replaced with a smaller horsepower 440, which we knew was going to give us a much slower ET. But, we didn’t anticipate ole Bill having such radical adjustments to his driving style. Learned that my transmission and torque convertor didn’t like the new smaller horsepower motor. But, we wiggled our way through the race season trying to adjust as we went. However, as I am writing this article, my new 440 bul-let is staged up ready to get installed in the Dart. So 2020, here we come again !! Email to articles to—- [email protected]. Thanks a bunch Bill Boon
