Meet Our Directors

DAVID LLOYDManaging Director

A British national, David studied at University College London and the London School of Economics. He previously lived in Argentina where he completed an internship at Rolex, perfected his Spanish and fell in love with the continent. Before setting up The Intern Group he was a fixed income salesman on the Iberian desk for Merrill Lynch in London.

Our Story So FarOur Story So Far

The Intern Group was founded in January 2011 with a pilot summer program in Colombia at the FIFA under 20 world cup where ten international students arrived in Latin America to complete internships with FIFA. After a successful pilot, full programs were launched in Colombia and London. The company has grown from 20 bookings in 2011 to over 1000 in 2013.

We now have 25 full-time staff furthering our company mission “to provide the best international internship program globally, delivering our clients with a superb professional, personal and educational experience.” Opening our offices in Madrid and Hong Kong in 2013 enabled us to expand our reach into two important global locations while further plans in early 2014 to open our offices in New York and Melbourne,will ensure that our service offering to international students remains globally relevant and provides fantastic opportunities worldwide.

Johanna graduated top of her class in Financial Engineering and holds a masters in Sales and Marketing. She worked in the Colombian stock exchange for 3 years with Valores Bancolombia. Johanna also lived for 2 years in London where she perfected her English and immersed herself in a new culture.

Intern Hong Kong

Born in Hong Kong, Krystal went abroad to study in the UK when she was 16. After graduating from the London School of Economics in 2008, she worked in KPMG and Deloitte specializing in international tax consultancy. Being fluent in four languages, she believes that people can only truly experience the unique cultural offerings of different countries by immersing themselves in and living authentic local experiences.

Intern London

A native Londoner, Lee is passionate about using his own experiences to help young ambitious students achieve their goals. He graduated from University College London in 2006, after graduation he worked for three years as a European fixed income trader; eventually heading up a trading team in 2009. Lee left his most recent role in L´Oreal´s marketing department to co-found The Intern Group.

After completing her degree at UCL, London, Thalassa continued her studies in Madrid at San Pablo CEU and then at the Escuela Superior de Negocios y Tecnologías, completing three masters in International Relations, Business and International Marketing. Thalassa understands the challenges that come hand in hand with living and working abroad and how to turn them into advantages.

A) Group ProgramYour university sends a number or number range of students to go on our internship program at set times of the year. We can tailor our program specifically to academic/other requests that your university may have, we will also tailor the selection process specifically for your university.

Your University will:• Promote our programs on/offline

Your University & The Intern GroupWe encourage universities to bring groups of their students to come and intern within our program. We are excited to build a relationship with your university and offer these unique opportunities to your students. We are flexible with our programs and we can tailor them according to your specifications.

B) Recommended Provider / AffiliateYour university refers students to apply through our website. Your students mention your university name during the telephone/Skype interview with us, and we interview your students for the internship program as normal.
