This addendum is part of the Bid Documents and Contract Documents and shall govern in the performance of the work. Receipt of this addendum shall be acknowledged on the Bid Form. The following clarifications were made at the prebid: 1. The renovation is to be completed in two phases as illustrated on sheet A100. Scheduling requirements related to each phase are outlined in 1.E Special Conditions paragraph 2. Phase 2 may commence prior to substantial completion of Phase 1. Owner will occupy the Phase 1 project area upon substantial completion of that Phase. 2. R. No, all partitions indicated to extend to bottom of deck (head construction ‘B’ or ‘R’) shall receive batt insulation per specification 072100. Batt thickness shall match the stud cavity depth. See revisions to sheet A301 below.

Q. On sheet A150, detail A4 shows no deflection track, but detail A5 does show

deflection track. Both details show framing to the deck. Do you only want deflection track on partitions that have the drywall extended to the deck?

R. No, deflection track is required at all partitions where framing extends to deck. Q. Has the flooring product specified for LVT-3 (Mohawk Boulder- Hot and Heavy

LVT, 36x36x5MM, Color 172 Sulfur) been discontinued? If so, is a different product to be used?

R. Color 172 Sulfur has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we have confirmed that existing stock of this color is still available for purchase and is on hold with the manufacturer for use on this project.

PROJECT MANUAL Revise the following specification sections as described below: Section Modification 1.A. Replace Bid Form dated 11/06/17 in its entirety with revised Bid Form dated

11/16/17 attached. Additive Alternates 1 and 3 have been revised to include protection of existing finishes to remain, and to exclude moisture mitigation for the affected areas. Base bid quantities for Unit Prices 7.a, 7.b, and 7.c have also been revised to include the Alternate 1 and 3 areas. The moisture mitigation associated with Alternates 1 and 3 shall be included in the base bid as per the revised base bid quantities listed. If Alternates 1 and/or 3 are not accepted, a credit change order will be issued for the adjusted quantity at the unit price submitted.

1.E Revise paragraph 2.A.(4) to read “Bid Alternate #2, if accepted, will be completed

between December 18th, 2017 and January 10th, 2018, and/or between March 24th, 2018 and March 30th, 2018. Limited work may also be completed in this area over weekends beginning at 5:00pm Friday provided all ceilings are reinstalled and the space is ready for Owner’s use by 7:00am each Monday. This space is scheduled for Owner’s use prior to and following these periods, so construction activities will be limited to the timeframe specified.”

Revise paragraph 2.H to read “Phase 1 Construction Requirement: Prior to AHU

start-up and 2nd pass (see Controls spec 230900) by Owner, all Dirty Activities will be complete. Contractor shall in all instances be responsible for “Thorough Clean” requirements. The Owner requires AHU start-up / air movement a minimum of 30 days prior to substantial completion of Phase 1 to perform TAB and 2nd pass controls. Pre-punch inspection will take place 45 days prior to substantial completion to allow 15 days to complete Dirty Activities.

Add paragraph 2.I. to read “Electrical panel ‘P5’ replacement illustrated on sheet

E401 shall be completed before 7:00am or after 5:00pm Monday through Friday; anytime Saturday or Sunday; or anytime during Winter Recess, Spring Break, or Summer Recess. This area must remain available to students during normal business hours.”

(1) Additive Alternate No. 1: M148 Flooring Base Bid: Patch and repair existing resinous floor and integral cove as indicated. Protect existing finishes to remain. Add Alternate: Demolish existing resinous floor throughout, patch and repair existing slab to receive new finishes, and install new LVT floor and resilient base as specified. All for sum of: DOLLARS ($ ). (2) Additive Alternate No. 2: M123 Sprinklers Base Bid: Existing to remain. Add Alternate: Extend sprinkler coverage throughout M123 and surrounding spaces as indicated. c. Unit Prices:

(1) For changing specified quantities of work from those indicated by Contract Drawings and Specifications, upon written instructions of Owner, the following Unit Prices shall prevail in accordance with General Conditions.

(2) The following Unit Prices include all labor, overhead and profit, materials, equipment,

appliances, bailing, shoring, shoring removal, etc., to cover all work. (3) The following Unit Prices are required where applicable to particular Base Bid and/or

Alternate being submitted. (4) Only a single Unit Price shall be given and it shall apply for either MORE or LESS work

than that indicated on Drawings and called for in Specifications as indicated to be included in Base Bid and/or Alternates. In the event that more or less units than so indicated is actually furnished, Change Orders will be issued for increased or decreased amounts as approved by the Owner.

(5) Bidder understands that the Owner will not be liable for any Unit Price or any amount in

excess of Base Bid and any Alternate(s) accepted at time of award of Contract, except as expressed in written Change Orders duly executed and delivered by Owner's Representative.

(6) Note that the term “Base Bid Quantity” may not necessarily be directly related to the actual

base bid scope of work. Certain items may also apply in part or in whole to additive alternate scopes of work.

4. PROJECT COMPLETION

a. Contract Period - Contract period begins on the day the Contractor receives unsigned Contract, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and "Instructions for Execution of Contract, Bonds, and Insurance Certificates." Bidder agrees to complete project within Two Hundred and Seventy (270) calendar days from receipt of aforementioned documents. Fifteen (15) calendar days have been allocated in construction schedule for receiving aforementioned documents from Bidder.

b. Commencement - Contractor agrees to commence work on this project after the "Notice to

Proceed" is issued by the Owner. "Notice to Proceed" will be issued within seven (7) calendar days after Owner receives properly prepared and executed Contract documents listed in paragraph 4.a. above.

c. Special Scheduling Requirements – Refer to Special Conditions for specific scheduling

requirements for this project. 5. SUBCONTRACTOR LIST:

6. SUPPLIER DIVERSITY PARTICIPATION GOALS

a. The Contractor shall have as a goal, subcontracting with Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) of ten percent (10%) with Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVE) of three percent (3%) and with Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE), and/or Veteran Owned Business of ten percent (10%) of awarded contract price for work to be performed.

b. Requests for waiver of this goal shall be submitted on the attached Application for Waiver form. A

determination by the Director of Facilities Planning & Development, UM, that a good faith effort has not been made by Contractor to achieve above stated goal may result in rejection of bid.

7. BIDDER'S ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Bidder hereby states that amount, or amounts, set forth in bid is, or are, correct and that no mistake or error has occurred in bid or in Bidder's computations upon which this bid is based. Bidder agrees that he will make no claim for reformation, modifications, revisions or correction of bid after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.

b. Bidder agrees that bid shall not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after scheduled closing

time for receipt of bids. c. Bidder understands that Owner reserves right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities

in bidding. d. Accompanying the bid is a bid bond, or a certified check, or an irrevocable letter of credit, or a

cashier's check payable without condition to "The Curators of the University of Missouri" which is an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of amount of largest possible total bid herein submitted, including consideration of Alternates.

e. Accompanying the bid is a Bidder's Statement of Qualifications. Failure of Bidder to submit the

Bidder's Statement of Qualifications with the bid may cause the bid to be rejected. Owner does not maintain Bidder's Statements of Qualifications on file.

7. WHERE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO CONCEAL NEW WORK, REMOVE OR MODIFY EXISTINGCONSTRUCTION OR EQUIPMENT, OR ATTACH TO EXISTING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALLREPAIR OR REPLACE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS TO MATCH CONDITIONS AT THE ONSETOF CONSTRUCTION. 8. THE OWNER SHALL MAINTAIN ALL SALVAGE RIGHTS OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS REMOVED. ALLEQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS NOT CLAIMED BY THE OWNER SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THEPREMISES BY THE CONTRACTOR.

9. ALL WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE REFERENCE DETAILS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THE DETAILS ARE CALLEDOUT ON THE PLANS. SEE 500 SERIES SHEET(S).

10. PROVIDE VENTS AT ALL HYDRONIC PIPING HIGH POINTS, AND DRAINS AT ALL PIPING LOW POINTS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHERSHOWN OR NOT. ALL MANUAL VENTS SHALL HAVE A 3/4" MALE HOSE BIB.

11. IN GENERAL, IF THE FINAL HYDRONIC PIPING RUNOUT TO A COIL OR OTHER TERMINAL DEVICE IS NOT SIZED ON THE PLANS, SEEHYDRONIC PIPE RUNOUT SIZE EQUIPMENT SCHEDULE ON SHEET(M602). MINIMUM HYDRONIC PIPE RUNOUT TO ANY COIL SHALL BE3/4".

12. DUE TO EXTENSIVE OCCURRENCE OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS USED IN THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING (I.E.LEAD-BASED PAINT AND ASBESTOS INSULATION), THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL DEMOLITION WITH THE ABATEMENTCONTRACTOR. EFFORTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO SHOW THE MAJORITY OF THIS DEMOLITION ON THESE AND THE ARCHITECTURALPLANS, BUT CLEARLY, THE EXACT LOCATION AND EXTENT OF THIS DEMOLITION MUST BE FULLY COORDINATED. 20. THE WORK OF SECTION 230900 SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ELECTRICAL WORK, COMPLYING WITH REQUIREMENTS OF DIVISION 26 SECTIONS:A. CONTROL WIRING BETWEEN FIELD-INSTALLED CONTROLS, INDICATING DEVICES, AND UNIT CONTROL PANELS.B. INTERLOCK WIRING BETWEEN ELECTRONICALLY OPERATED EQUIPMENT UNITS AND BETWEEN EQUIPMENT AND FIELD-INSTALLED CONTROL DEVICES.C.
