In 2013, the Baltimore County Public Schools launched its Students & Teachers Accessing Tomorrow (STAT) initiative, a comprehensive effort to integrate technology across the district. As a key component of the initiative, BCPS envisioned a centralized digital learning ecosystem to facilitate planning, assessment, and communication for stakeholders across the education process—administrators, teachers, students and parents.

The district chose Engrade as the foundation for BCPS One, the site that brings together all of the district’s programs and initiatives around student data, assessments, curriculum, instruction, reporting and analysis. Previously BCPS housed these functions in separate systems with no capability to share meaningful information between them.
