Breaking Barriers to Market AdoptionIndustry’s Past Experience with Ultrasonic Sealing
History Reciprocal
It doesn’t workPrevious sonotrodes were limited to 5 or 6 inches and
were not easily adjustable to ensure an even, repeatable seal. UTS goes up to 13 inches wide.
It’s expensiveWe can seal packages up to 13-inches wide with a single ultrasonic stack instead of two or three. We
utilize the bagmaker existing motion system to further reduce cost.
It’s complicatedSee the answer above. Our design is greatly
simplified with fewer moving parts, no change overs, and adjustments where you need them.
Previous sonotrodes were not true rotary. Achieving speeds up to 250 per minute is well within capacity.
We use a single generator, transducer, and sonotrode. Other systems may have up to six
transducers. There is no need for complex hyper-cycloidal rotation.
Our true rotary sonotrode mounts on the axis of rotation without the need for complex hyper-cycloidal
rotation. Simple, economical, robust.

• Single sonotrode, single transducer• Seals up to 13-inches wide• Runs a large range of package sizes with no
changeover• Modular to facilitate retrofit or new build• No additional motors or motion system

• Mechanical adjustments control all degrees of freedom to ensure alignment for even, consistent seals every time
• Lockdowns to ensure adjustments do not move during production
• Dual force control to further ensure even sealing

12
• Patented UTS sonotrode allows controlled ultrasonic vibration over a 13-inch width
• Amplitude is the biggest factor in delivering energy to create a seal
• Amplitude control is a key feature for our reciprocating technology
• Ensuring an even, consistent seal over complex surfaces and film structures

• Single transducer, single sonotrode, with two welding surfaces• Seals up to 230-wide (wider sonotrodes coming soon) • Poisson effect allows sonotrode sealing surface to
vibrate in a direction perpendicular to the incoming ultrasonic wave
• Transducer is mounted along the axis of rotation
• No multi sonotrode assemblies
• No hyper-cycloidal motion
