UIC College of Engineering – Marketing

Getting the message out

September 14, 2009

2

• Feedback from individual Advisory Board Marketing Committee members approach marketing the college from a number of vantage points e.g.,:

– Strategically position and brand UIC COE’s corporate partnership vis a vis other university offerings e.g., Cornell model, Beckman Institute in Urbana

– Better understand why companies choose to engage, develop and recruit students from UIC’s COE

– Develop a marketing message and campaign– Create list of target companies that effectively align with the COE’s objectives and

strengths– Ensure that the internal support system can deliver on our programs.

• In the interim, look for effective ways to increase the level of engagement with Advisory Board companies.

• Utilize the Advisory Board’s extended network to reach our targeted companies.
