1. Use hard surfaces for flooring where

possible as they suppress weeds and requirevery little maintenance. Decking will give you aprofessional finish and is easy to maintainwith the right products.2. Utilise the many time saving productsavailable on the market to treat and protectyour garden. Ronseal Sprayable One CoatFencelife can be appli ed with a Ronseal PowerSprayer which coats a fence panel in around 2minutes!

3. When choosing plants for the garden avoidherbaceous plants, as they require a lot ofmaintenance and with perennials check that theydont need staking. Some of the mostpractical and easy going plants are floweringshrubs, go for a mixture of evergreens anddeciduous plants to give variety. Theres a lotto choose from but some favourites are Hebes,Rhododendrons, Potentilla, Cistus, Escallonia andLilac.4. One thing that takes up time in a garden

is keeping on top of the weeds. The best wayto reduce this is by using weed suppressantmatting on the borders, but you need to putsome work in first. You must make sure thatall the perennial weeds are removed first thenput down the matting. If you dont the weedswill come up through the matting and then itseven more difficult to get rid of them.

Top-dress the matti ng with gravel, cobbles orshale this will show off the shrubs but alsostop weed seedlings germinating.

This garden has been designed with low maintenance i n mind.

The key is using hard surfaces such as decking and pav ing insteadof grass, so you dont have to worry about weeds. Evergreen shrubs

are the perfect plants for the easy garden as they require verylittle attention.
