UG Quiz for I MBBS – “BREATH 2K16”

The Department of Physiology conducted the Intra Class Quiz Competition

“BREATH 2K16” for I year MBBS students in the CME hall on 9.3.16 between

2.p.m to 4.p.m.

The quiz included 9 different rounds namely:

1. History Round

2. Functional Anatomy Round

3. Clinical Round

4. Buzzer Round

5. Connexions Round

6. Cryptex Round

7. Rush or Relax Round

8. Jumbled Round &

9. Rapid Fire Round.

The Vice Principal, Prof. Dr.M.Chandrasekhar headed the quiz programme. The

Head of Anatomy Department and faculties from other departments and Ist MBBS

students attended the quiz programme. The rounds started following introduction

of all the four teams. The faculty members of Physiology Department compered as

the quiz masters for those 9 rounds.

Each round was quiet interesting and different from each other. There was a

tight competition between the four teams in the first four rounds, then Berne &

Levy and Best & Taylor teams took a lead in the other 3 rounds.

(Berne & Levy got 1st prize & (Best & Taylor won the 2nd prize & silver medal)

Won the gold medal)

Atlast, Bern & Levy jumped a mile away from the other three teams and

won the first prize in “BREATH 2K16”. The second prize was won by Best &

Taylor and the Gyuton team won the third prize. The consolation prize was given

for the Ganong team.

There was an audience round in-between which was answered

enthusiastically by the other students and the winners were given prizes at the end.

The quiz ended with the Vote of Thanks.

STUDENTS SEMINAR

Department of Physiology for the first time organized a “Student’s

Seminar Performance” for Ist MBBS (2015-2016 batch) students. The students

were given important university question topics and all the 150 students were made

to present their topics through PPT, videos and black board teaching. Separate

mentor was allotted for every 10 students where the mentor guided them in their

topic selection and suggestions on presentation. A certificate of merit was given by

the co-coordinator of the programme every day for the best presentation. All

students felt that such programmes are extremely useful for them for preparation

for their exams and also it helps in improving their interpersonal communication

skills.

Ms.Vidhya.S was awarded first prize for her best presentation on the topic

“Factors affecting cardiac output”

Ms.Tanujaa.M was given best presentation award for her excellent presentation on

“Oxygen Dissociation Curve”

Ms.Srinidhi.R was given first prize for her best presentation on

“Basal Ganglia – Applied aspects

ISLETCON 2015 conducted by Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital from 27th to 29th

July 2015.

The Undergraduates students Ms.Raveena Raghavi, Ms.Shivani, Ms.Shobika and

Ms.Ramya presented their Research Paper in the National Conference – APTCON 2015

conducted by Dept. of Physiology of MMCH & RI on 27th to 28th September 2015.The

students Ms.Raveena Raghavi and Ms.Shobika have won the Best Paper Awards.
