    Wide Body Aircraft

A wide-body aircraft is a large airlinerwith twopassengeraisles, also known as a twin-aisle aircraft. Inthe typical wide-body economy cabin, passengers areseated seven to ten abreast, allowing a total capacity of

200 to 600 passengersWide-body aircraft are also used for the transport ofcommercial freight and cargo

By comparison, a traditional narrow-body airliner has adiameter of 3 to 4 m (10 to 13 ft), with a single aisle, andseats between two and six people abreast.

    Contd.

    Wide-body aircraft were originally

designed for a combination of efficiency

    and passenger comfort. However, airlines

quickly gave in to economic factors, and

reduced the extra passenger space in

order to maximize revenue and profits

A narrow-body aircraft is an airlinerwith

seat arranged 2 to 6 abreast along a

single aisle. Often called single aisle

aircraft. Narrow-body aircraft with a range

General aviation is a catch-all covering

other kinds of private and commercial use,

and involving a wide range of aircraft types

such as business jets (bizjets), trainers,

    homebuilt, aerobatic types, racers, gliders,

    warbirds, firefighters, medical transports,

and cargo transports, to name a few. Thevast majority of aircraft today are general

    aviation types.

    Trainers

A traineris an aircraft used to develop

    piloting, navigational or war-fighting skills

in flight crew.Civilian pilots are normally

trained in a light aircraft, with 2 or more

seats to allow for student and instructor.

The aircraft may be modified to withstand

the flight conditions imposed by trainingflights.

    Homebuilt aircraft

    Also known as amateur-built aircraftorkit

    planes, homebuilt aircraft are

constructed by persons for whom this is

not a professional activity. These aircraft

may be constructed from "scratch," from

plans, or from assembly kits. The safety

record of homebuilts is not comparable tocertified general aviation aircraft.

    Aerobatics

    Aerobatics is the practice offlying

    maneuvers involving aircraft attitudes that

are not used in normal flight. Aerobatics

are performed in airplanes and gliders for
