    Problem StatementThe problem to be considered is shown schematically in the figure. A cold fluid at 293.15 K flowsinto the pipe through a large inlet, and mixes with a warmer fluid at 313.15 K that enters through asmaller inlet located at the elbow. The pipe dimensions, the fluid properties and boundary conditionsare given in SI units. What will be the properties of the outflow?

    Open the Workbench from starting menu

    Double click on Fluid Flow (FLUENT) .

    Right click on the Geometry and go to Properties .

    In Analysis Types choose 2D.

    Double click on the Geometry and choose the unit for drawing.

    Select XY plane and sketch in XY plane .

    Draw the given problem in Sketching with proper dimension

    Click on Generate , save the Project .

    Split the face to 4 different faces for better meshing

    Select Edge

    Select the Edge , right click on it and click on Create Named Section .

    After giving name to all edges Export the mesh file.

    Select Fluent Input file from drop down box and save it by giving a proper name.

    Open the fluent start menu with 2D option.

    From Fluent Database select Water-Liquid

    In Cell-Zone Condition check whether Type is fluid or not ( Material Name to water-liquid)

    Boundary Conditions inlet large Edit Thermal provide temperature value

    Boundary Conditions inlet small Edit provide velocity in y direction
