Big announcement! Next month, we will debut a clean, new look and layout for WITF’s TV & Radio Listings Guide. Over the past year, we’ve embraced major

changes to our weekday afternoon and early evening programming. With the addition of primetime program repeats like Nature, NOVA, American Experience and Antiques Roadshow to the Learning at Home afternoon schedule, and the expansion of our news and public affairs programming in the early evening, we have more fantastic “appointment viewing” to share with you. Accordingly, the new layout focuses on presenting each day’s programming you care about, all in one place. No more flipping pages back and forth depending on the time of day. You’ll be able to find what’s on WITF with an easy glance, weekdays starting at 1pm and weekends starting at 9am.

By bringing you more daily program updates, we have a little less room for everything currently provided in the guide. So, two concessions. First, many programs will not have the full episode description. Second, with the new streamlined appearance, the page 2 “At a Glance” schedule is redundant; the whole guide now has an “At a Glance” simplicity. We hope you enjoy this update, with more information in an easy-to-read format, as much as we do!

Another important change to note is that we are approaching the end of The Lawrence Welk Show on WITF. As with other PBS stations, the cost to air The Lawrence Welk Show is one of our most expensive among syndicated series, and viewership of the program has been on a steady decline. So, after

Now, we revisit the stories of those we interviewed at the start of the pandemic. We will hear from frontline workers, teachers, parents and more. How has life changed and what are they expecting soon? WITF’s Original Production Transforming Health premieres this new episode May 6 at 8pm.

On Family Night: Engineering, kindergarteners through fifth graders and their families will learn what it takes to be a successful engineer in today’s world and why the field is so important! Plus, kids will get a chance to put their engineering skills to work in fun, hands-on activities during the program. Watch Family Night: Engineering May 13 at 7pm.

So, what is next? We continue to broadcast the comedy variety The Carol Burnett Show - these episodes are Carol’s handpicked favorites. In late August, this series will shift up to 6pm, which will make room for more British comedies. Aside from asking about Doc Martin or A Place to Call Home, the other most popular question I get is, “When can we get more comedy?” The answer is, “Soon!” I present to you the Bigger British Comedy Block. Broadly speaking, this block will have two “classic” Britcoms along with two newer series. More details about this expansion of British comedy to come in August.
