As part of the tendering process, we are required to provide an overview of potential participant numbers. Later this week, a google survey will be sent out to all families regarding your use of the new facility. Please complete the survey if you think you would use before or after school care, if located at our school. This is by no way a guarantee of placement, rather a predicted use survey. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Please keep an eye out for the survey. It will be published through all of our regular channels. Enrolments 2021 Our enrolment numbers are coming in for 2021, especially for our kindergarten students. I encourage all current families, who have a younger sibling starting next year, to ensure the enrolment forms are in promptly. PRINCIPAL NEWS

Out of School Hours Care

As you all know our hall upgrade will include an after school care facility, which we anticipate will open in 2021.

We are entering our new

staffing cycle and we need to confirm student numbers to predict our staffing numbers. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Bike Safety

It is wonderful to see so many of our students riding their bikes to school each day. It is a great way to stay fit and healthy.

Paint Room

Unfortunately, I have had a local resident approach me concerned for the safety of some students, who are riding in a large group and are crossing roads without looking. They are ultimately heading toward the beach, or path out to Salt. He has, on several occasion, seen them race across roads, trying to keep up with each other, and has had to stop quickly to avoid collision. Help to keep “Kingy kids” safe.

Please remind your children:

to ride safely,

to look before crossing,

always wear a helmet and

be aware of your surroundings Thank you Diana Foley PRINCIPAL

Canteen Orders

All parents wishing to place a canteen order for their child will need to do so at the window along the side of the office. This is to limit the number of parents in the office foyer. Please remember to obey social distancing in this area.

Parents On Site

Following an update on COVID restrictions released by the DoE only students and parents with pre-arranged meetings are allowed to enter the foyer. All parent payments, early pick-ups/late arrivals and all other general enquiries are to be handled at the first window along the side of the office with Canteen payments remaining at the second window. Please do not enter the school if you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms.

Sickness

If your child is unwell or has flu-like symptoms they should be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID-19 clinics. Please advise the school should any immediate family members be tested and students are to remain home until the results are known.

KIMP NEWS

KIMP Accounts A very big thank you to those families who have paid their KIMP fees for Term 3. As you know the program is self funded and the fees cover the cost of employing Rob and I. We were so lucky to have school cover these costs for all families last term and I know families appreciated this help. There are still a large number of fees outstanding for this term so it would be much appreciated if these could now be paid. I understand we all have a lot of financial pressure at the moment so if you would like to set up a payment plan to take care of outstanding fees please just ring the office and they will be very happy to help organise this. KIMP accounts have gone home in the post at the end of last week. Payment is required by Friday 11 September. Updates I have been emailing parents with information regarding any changes happening with KIMP , if you have not been receiving these please contact me. Lessons I just wanted to let you know I will be away this week as I have hurt my back. It means there won't be lessons for my students this week. Mr Walsh will still be in teaching on Tuesday and percussion lessons will be in the music room. Given the additional Covid restrictions which came into place this week (no brass allowed in groups) we have decided to cancel band for the final weeks of this term. We did give it a good shot this week and I think had some fun but the logistics of turning each band into a percussion only ensemble with large numbers of students has led to this decision. I am just crossing everything that come next term we will allowed to go back to normal band rehearsals. Nicky Cooper Kingscliff Instrumental Music Program Kingscliff Public School
