Troubleshooting Car Central Locking System

Troubleshooting Car Security System

Step 1

1. Lock the car using remote of Central Locking2. Now try to open the doors of the car one by one. They all should be locked and should not open.

3. If you are able to open one of the doors (though you locked all the doors using remote), it indicates that the gun (mechanism of locking) of that particular door is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Step 2

1. When the door of the car gets locked a particular button / lever gets pressed that indicates to the system that door is locked. Look for that particular small button to make sure that it is properly being pressed (door closed) and released (door open). You should be able to press this button with your thumb easily.

2. Now open one door and let the other doors of the car closed.

3. Press the button mentioned in step 1 and keep it pressed so for car mechanism door is closed and press lock the car using remote of central locking. It should get locked i.e. you should hear a lock beep.

4. Now release the button that you have pressed in step 3, the siren should switch i.e. warning sound from the car security system that one of the doors is opened. Unusually, it gives multiple beeps for this. 5. If you do not hear the warning / error beeps, it indicates that door closing button is not functioning and should be replaced.
