"As an arm of the Church, to develop godly Christian leaders:

positive, goal-oriented university graduates with thoroughly Christian minds;

growing disciples of Jesus Christ who glorify God through fullfiling the Great Commission,

serving God and people in the various marketplaces of life."

Since our first days in 1962, Trinity Western

has held a unique vision for delivering an

academically excellent liberal arts and

sciences education within the context of a

Christ-centred community.

We have grown to become the largest faith-

based university in Canada and one of North

America’s premier Christian universities,

offering a full range of undergraduate

degrees (48) and graduate degrees (19),

as well as professional schools in business,

education, human kinetics, nursing and the

arts, media and culture.

What we are most proud of is our diverse

alumni community—who, in all walks of life,

are the embodiment of our mission, as they

positively impact the lives and communities

they serve.

We are driven by a deep desire to equip you

to find and fulfill your purpose, by helping

you discover your passion and develop it into

a profession. So you too can live a fulfilling

life of positive impact and meaning.

“I learn from students and they learn from me. It’s great to watch them grow and develop. I love having an impact on their lives because I know they’re going to have an impact on other people’s lives. It has an exponential effect.”

Blair Whitmarsh, Ph.D.Dean and Professor, School of Human Kinetics

Holly Faith Nelson, Ph.D.Department Chair and Professor, English

“The purpose of a university education is to question and to think. But to be able to do that within a faith structure, in a supportive environment, is very empowering for students.”

meet the needs of people around the world or

write about the issues that matter today.

No other program in Canada offers the same

access to elite Ottawa internships in politics and

NGOs. Plus, the LLC’s Executive Director will work

personally with you to find you an internship that

matches your interests.

DISCOVER GOD’S PLAN

FOR YOUR LIFE.

Expand out into the world. Find an outreach

opportunity that’s right for you and use your

talents to change lives for Christ. Here are a few

options:

• Help out in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

• Volunteer with our local prison and youth

centre ministries.

• Join a missions team in countries like Haiti,

Israel and Cambodia.

• Start a new international or local outreach

program.

Develop your faith. You can choose to take

part in some great on-campus programs, like a

small-group Bible study or a student mentorship.

And because professors integrate Christian

perspectives into their material, you’ll be

challenged to grow spiritually as you sit in class.

Daily Chapel. The respite you crave in the midst of a busy schedule, Chapel helps you carve out the time and space you need to meet with and hear from God. Non-mandatory but vital, with a great lineup of speakers, interactive worship and other special activities, it’s one of the best ways for you to encounter God on campus and be empowered to do the things He cares about.

“I see Christians critiquing culture from the bleachers. I love being in the thick of things, being called to go into those dark places that don’t have Jesus. We shouldn’t be scared of doing that.” Scott Forsyth (’14)

Vancouver, BC

Scott Forsyth has become a force of influence in the world of dance choreography. He’s

been featured on big name TV shows (World of Dance, America’s Got Talent), worked

with a variety of celebrities, taught in countries around the world and been nominated

for several awards. With hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, the 2018

Alumni Achievement Award winner feels an extra measure of responsibility in how he

presents himself. “My education at TWU has helped me navigate through the grey areas

in witnessing to those around me,” he says. “How I do business can have a lasting impact

that God will provide opportunities for us to share our faith.”

“I’ve always admired TWU for its bold declaration of faith in Jesus Christ, the consistency in its quality of education and the way it flourishes in the Christian community. I look forward to growing, learning, strengthening my character and pursuing a Christ-filled life here. Financial support is another confirmation from God that this is where He is leading me.”

“At Trinity Western, I had the opportunity to learn the art of nursing in an environment that

recognizes people and patients as more than merely physical beings. I was supported

and encouraged to pursue my passions for both nursing and global health and given a

solid foundation on which to base my nursing career and vocation.”

“Trinity Western’s lab environment is fantastic. I think that’s what most prepared me for

being a researcher. My professors taught me to think like a researcher, to work in a lab

and to think about science in a broader fashion.”

“I checked out other schools where you’re just one person in a hive. The small class sizes at

TWU mean you can talk to a professor without having to schedule it in advance. I’m also

grateful for their multi-disciplinary and liberal arts mandate—which helped when I had

to write professional documents for grant submissions or come up with tentative legal

agreements in launching the video game.”
