TRINITY TRANSITION TEAM YOUR TRANSITION TEAM HAS BEGUN ITS WORK AND SO HAVE YOU!
In the next months we will be going through a LISTENING SEASON. You will be given ques-
tions for reflection and response through the weekly newsletter, through Mission Opportunity announce-
ments and mailings. Your responses are very important in the building of the Trinity profile that will be
used by the Synod in their search for candidates for the call to Trinity’s ministry. We ask all of you to
participate so that our profile will be comprehensive and true.
There are many ways to respond to the ongoing questions. Written response can be dropped in a
receptacle in the Fellowship Hall or sent by mail to Trinity c/o the Transitional Team. There will also be
round table discussions with team members during fellowship after Sunday worship. Everyone is
invited to attend committee meetings or to meet one on one with any member of the team via email,
phone or face-to-face. The youth are also encouraged to respond; Brooklyn is eager to listen.
The first three question that were given to you are asked to be returned by the annual meeting this
Sunday. We have had a nice response but more are needed. You may still return your responses to the
first three questions if you have not yet done so. The table discussions were good last Sunday with Horst
and Ruth who are members of the Transition Team. More of these discussions will take place in the com-
ing months.
Your new questions for your prayerful response are:
Name 3 parts of the worship service that in your opinion are the most important?
Why do you feel they are crucial?
The team members names and contact information are on the bulletin board in the office hallway, the fel-
lowship hall and narthex.

Your Health Ministries Committee will once again remind you to
take care of your heart. We will have information in the red-decorated
Fellowship Hall each week and healthy snacks during the coffee hour.
Blood pressure screening will be available each Saturday before
worship, and each Sunday after worship – in the Fellowship Hall.
Know your numbers.
The weekend of February 27th and 28th is Worship in Red. We invite
all to wear red that day in support of Heart Health
Here are some heart-healthy tips to remember.
Heart Attack Warning Signs Chest discomfort: Be mindful of discomfort in the center of the
chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and
comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing,
fullness or pain.
Discomfort in other areas of the upper body: This can happen
in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or
stomach.
Shortness of breath: This often happens
along with chest discomfort, but also can oc-
cur before. Other signs include breaking out
in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

Tips for Taking Charge of Your Health
Schedule yearly check-ups with your doctor to have
your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels
checked.
Exercise 15 to 30 minutes a day, even if it's by stepping, marching
or jogging in place while you watch television.
Take a water bottle wherever you go and sip it throughout the day.
It will keep you hydrated.
Keep packages of unhealthy food hidden. Instead, keep raw
vegetables and fruits ready for when you want a snack.
Keep your cholesterol down by eating foods low in saturated fat,
such as lean chicken or turkey, fruits and vegetables, low-fat
yogurt and pasta.
Limit your salt intake. It may be disguised on food labels as sodium
alginate, sodium sulfite, sodium caseinate, sodium hydroxide, diso-
dium phosphate, sodium benzoate, monosodium glutamate (MSG)
and sodium citrate.
Don't smoke. If you smoke, quit.
Avoid fad diets. If you want to lose weight, eat 200 to 300 calories
less per day and exercise at least 30 minutes five days a week.
