My Brothers,

March is here and our first major fundraiser of the year is behind us, well, at least the cooking chicken dinner portion of it. The past weekend our Lodge performed its 29th Project Graduation fundraiser, preparing and serving 560 chicken dinners to raise money for this worthy event at Jupiter High School, and our crack team of volunteers and coordinators made everything run efficiently and smoothly. There were many, many brothers who came out to volunteer and I would like to thank each and every one of them for a job extremely well done! Special mention goes to Worshipful Max Groceman for pulling the longest shifts and seeing it through to the very last detail, and to Brother Senior Warden Jason Silvers and Brother George Koester for all of their work behind the scenes working with the high school and the community. As Brother Senior Warden reported in his article, there is still much to do for the actual event though, so anyone who is able to assist in sponsorship, please contact him. Great Job

Everyone!! There are some pictures included in this issue of the Trestleboard.

In March we also have a lot of exciting events coming up. This Friday, March 04, Star of Jupiter No. 312, Order of the Eastern Star, will be holding its Installation of Officers for the year. The ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm, with refreshments to follow. Please come out and support our ladies, especially our incoming Worthy Matron, Judith Meng, and our outgoing Worthy Matron, Linda

Rhinehart. They are always very supportive of us, so let’s pack the house!

On Saturday, March 5, our Lodge will be hosting Part One of the Masonic Leadership Training Course from 9am until 12 pm. This will be open to all Masons, including EA’s and FC’s, from District 32 (Palm Beach County) and District 30 (Vero Beach, Port St. Lucie, Ft. Pierce). This course is for Lodge officers, anyone who would like to become a Lodge officer, or any Brother interested in the operations of our fraternity. The event is free and will be followed by a complimentary lunch. Part Two of this course will be on Saturday, April 16, during the same hours at Harmonia Lodge No. 138. Officers or

Brothers completing both parts will receive a certificate from the Grand Lodge.

Greetings from the East!

Our first Stated Communication on March 8 will be the official visit of our D.D.G.M., R:.W:. Roy Strohacker, and his committee representatives. I hope many of you will be able to come out and hear our D.D.G.M.’s words and our Grand Master’s message, as well as finding out about the different programs that the Grand Lodge is operating in our District. Our O.E.S. ladies will be presenting a wonderful meal for us that night as well, and it will be a great opportunity to

show how strong of a Lodge we are by having a large audience in attendance.

On March 15, we will be having a Called Communication, for the purpose of conferring a Master Mason degree on Nelson Daniel. Nelson was unable to receive the degree with his class in December due to a medical procedure, so we are looking forward to having him back! Please come out and show your support for this Brother as he advances toward further light. Also, Congratulations to our newest E.A., Brother Hans Kuhn who received his degree as courtesy work from

Boynton Lodge No. 236 on Thursday, February 11.

On Saturday, March 12, we will be hosting our annual Widow’s Dinner here at the Lodge. The dinner will be at 6:30 pm and is free to all Masonic widows. Complimentary tickets and invitations have been mailed out, and all are welcome to attend. This dinner gives us a chance to show our widows how much we love them and value them as a part of our family, and also to honor the memories of their husbands, many of whom faithfully served our Fraternity as Past Masters and beloved Brothers. If anyone knows of a Masonic widow, of our Lodge or another, who could use a good night out, please bring them on March 12. Finally, on March 26, we will be holding our Sporting Clays shooting challenge to raise money to support our Law Enforcement Appreciation event on May 12. This event was a lot of fun last year and promises to be a great day of fellowship and locked-and-loaded entertainment. To register, contact Mark Murray or George Winterling. A registration form is attached in this copy of the Trestleboard. One last Masonic event – our annual Jupiter Light Lodge Pig Roast will be held this year at Amara Shrine on April 9th from 1-5 pm. We will have lots of great food and fellowship and a live band! Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Amara Shriner Transportation Fund, to help provide for the expense of transporting kids to the Shriner hospitals. Tickets will be available at our first

Stated meeting in March.

One of my initiatives this year is to dedicate time to the pursuit of Masonic Education. At our second Stated Meeting in February, we had the pleasure of seeing a presentation from the York Rite, based upon the Royal Master degree (8th degree of Y.R.). It was very interesting and informative and provided a taste of what awaits when one decides to pursue the degrees beyond the symbolic Lodge. Though no Master Mason can truly climb higher in rank by receiving these additional degrees, they certainly contribute more to his education and provide material for further study. As the Circumambu-lation program revealed, there is also more to the legend of the third degree than that which is contained within it, and this only adds dimension to the allegory. The Palm Beach York Rite will be holding one of its bi-annual Festivals on April 1,2 at Harmonia Lodge, so if anyone is interested in joining, your petition and payment are needed by March 21. There is a copy of the petition included in this Trestleboard, and it may be submitted to myself, Brother Mark Shone, Brother Billy Bates, or any other York Rite member. We will tentatively be having a Scottish Rite educational presentation, featuring excerpts from the S.R. 7th degree, at our second meeting in April. The Scottish Rite will also be holding one of its bi-annual initiation Reunions coming up on May 13, 14, 21, 22. A petition to join Scottish Rite is also included with this Trestleboard and may be submitted to me as well. Also, Brothers interested in joining Amara Shrine will have the opportunity on March 31 and April 1 as the Shrine conducts a Ceremonial. Information regarding that event may also be found in

this edition of the Trestleboard.

Speaking of education, it is our responsibility as Masons to represent our Fraternity accurately in the court of public opinion. When we announce ourselves as Masons, either verbally, or by wearing the emblems of our Fraternity on our persons or our cars, we are representing our Brotherhood as a whole, and shaping the way that people perceive us. Here at Jupiter Light Lodge, we do a fantastic job of putting Masonry before the public and letting them see our good deeds. Last weekend’s Project Graduation is a great example. (By the way, I am also proud to say that the pre-sold but unclaimed chicken dinners from that event were donated to on duty police officers and firefighters, as a small token of our appreciation for the work they do!)

Yet, there are still many misconceptions about Freemasonry and much misinformation that exists out there. As a high school teacher, when my students see my Masonic ring, they frequently ask something like, “Are you part of the Illuminati?” It seems that some popular entertain-ment industry figures have sought to promote false ideas that obfuscate the truth and create generally perceived confusion. Accordingly, I have included in this issue an interesting article that I found which explains who the Illuminati actually were, and dispels some of the myths that

try to associate them with Freemasonry. If interested, check it out.

Finally, the picture on the cover of this month’s Trestleboard is a picture of St. Patrick from St. Patrick’s Lodge, which meets in the building of the Grand Lodge of Ireland in Dublin. I stumbled across the Grand Lodge of Ireland when visiting in 2012, and the Brothers there were courteous enough to show me around. They had a very interesting library and museum containing Masonic artifacts going back several centuries. I thought it would be appropriate since this

month is St. Patrick’s Day.

I would like it to be known to all that I am writing this month’s SW trestleboard article caked in chicken grease, completely ex-hausted, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Another year, another successful Project Graduation fundraiser. The total number of dinners prepared was a bit smaller than in years past, but the amount of support, level of effort, and diligence on behalf of the PG Board of Directors and our brethren made it a truly phenomenal event. Kudos are in order for Worshipful Max Groceman on another fine job. Keep in mind that Project Graduation is not a done deal, far from it. Now is when some of the most difficult work begins, as we try to raise money and secure prizes and gift items for the event in May. If you are a small business owner and are looking for some cheap advertising. Come find me at lodge and I’d be happy to give you all the details.

On the new brother front, I’d like to officially welcome brother Hans Kuhn to lodge. Unfortunately our calendar did not allow us to perform his degree work here but our friends and brothers from District 32 helped us out with a great

courtesy degree. Welcome Hans!

On tap this month we have our Widows Dinner on March 12. This is an important event for the lodge as we pay tribute to some of our own who have passed into the celestial lodge above, and we honor and comfort those they have left behind in our care. See you officers for tickets. We also have a long awaited Master Mason degree on the calendar for Bro. Nelson Daniele; are happy to see that you are feel-ing well and look forward to celebrating your next step in Masonry. The degree will be Tuesday Mar 15, light dinner at 6pm, degree at 6:30. Lastly our aim at Jupiter Light Lodge is to provide fellowship, and assist in helping our local com-munity. You aim can help us accomplish that goal at George and Mark’s Clay Shooting extravaganza benefiting the Jupiter Light Lodge Law Enforcement Cele-bration on March 26. Whether you’re a crack shot, or you have difficulty hitting the broad side of a barn, this promises to be a great event. See George and Mark

Greetings from the South! Just a few points to hit on from the South:

First I would like to thank everyone who came out to our February Lodge Clean-up. Your assistance in cleaning and prepping for the Project Graduation Chicken dinner was most appreciated, as was the effort put forth by the Chicken and Clean-Up

crews on the day of the event.

The Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons of Florida has proclaimed March as “Masonic Youth Month,” and I encourage you to support our Jupiter-Tequesta Chapter Order of DeMolay, and Boy Scout Troop 711 in some way, be it through a monetary donation, or simply providing an hour of your time to learn about these young men, and provide a word of

encouragement and guidance.

Please come out to our Widows’ Dinner on March 12th, as our Brother Senior Deacon will be preparing delicious and delectable dining delights!

Don’t forget about our 2nd Annual Sporting Clays Shooting Challenge, or “Rabbit’s Revenge,” on March 26th, to raise money for our Law Enforcement Officers’ event in May. Please see our Secretary or Junior Deacon for details.

Charity Committee ReportBrethren,

The Lodge charity for March will be OUR Jupiter/ Tequesta DeMolay Chapter. The order of DeMolay is a youth organization teaching young men to be better persons and leaders within their community. Once again this year Brother Paul Gazo has agreed to match all contributions made by the Lodge.

Last month’s charitable donations went to the Shriner’s Hospital Transportation Fund. A special thanks to the Jupiter Shrine Club who matched all donations. We raised a total of $1,050 for a very worthy cause.

Our charitable contributions for the year total $1,400. On behalf of the charity committee, we would like to thank the Brothers for a job well done at Project Graduation and encourage you to keep up the great work.

A Brief History of the Illuminati Posted by Greg Stewartin "Freemason In-

The Illuminati is one of those well-known

shadowy organization shrouded in myth

and legend. They are credited with behind

the scenes manipulations of world events

and seen as the secret power that con-

trols everything. The Illuminati has be-

come the modern day catch all poster

child of the political evils in the world. All

of which is highly ironic, as the group his-

torically was founded on May 1, 1776,

with the goals of opposing superstitions, religious influence over public life, and the abuse

of power by the state.

The Illuminati, along with other secret societies like the Freemasons, were seen as

subversive in the late eighteenth century, due in large part to the influence of the Roman

Catholic Church. Since then, the idea of the Illuminati has come to be associated

with any secret organization that proclaims to have links with the original society, though

in many cases these links are unsubstantiated.

Organized in a way very similar to that of Freemasonry, the Illuminati very likely used the

Masons as a pattern for which to their model their own society. Indeed, some present day

Illuminati groups claim to have origins far older than the historical 1776 account, using

their connection to Freemasonry in their principal argument. Some groups even lay claim

to connections that trace back to ancient Egypt and the Ra and Isis cults that thrived in

antiquity.

It is difficult to trace the history of the Illuminati much of what it did was in secret. After the

original society was outlawed, what was left, allegedly, went underground to continue its

work in secret. These claims include involvement in the Napoleonic Wars and were con-

sidered, by some, as responsible for the French Revolution in 1789. Many believe that

the subversive goal of the Illuminati was to form a one world government.

MASONIC EDUCATION

Congress of Vienna, 1814-15

The Congress of Vienna was, according to these beliefs, brought about by the Illuminati

who hoped to achieve their goal by forming a League of Nations. When Russia refused to

join, however, their plan was foiled creating, supposedly, a great deal of animosity towards

the Russian powers within the Illuminati rank and file.

The Illuminati are said to have devised a plan for there to occur three world wars over the

course of the twentieth century that would lead, ultimately, to the formation of a one world

government. In line with this theory, they orchestrated the tensions that led to World War I.

With the goal of destroying Imperial Russia and get revenge for the failed Congress of

Vienna. World War II was likewise planned by the Illuminati to strengthen communism.

There was to be a third war between political Zionists and the leaders of the Muslim world,

which was to have weakened everyone to the point where a one world government was

the only feasible option left. This makes for an interesting theory given the present state of

geopolitical affairs at hand in the world today.

While this is, by far, the most sensational account of the Illuminati available, very little of it

can be verified historically. What we do know is that the Illuminati were founded by Adam

Weishaupt, who was raised in Bavaria and educated at Jesuit school graduating ultimately

from the University of Ingolstadt in 1768 with a doctorate in law. Interestingly, the Jesuits

have been accused of broader conspiracies, subversive methods and conspiratorial

practices.

Weishaupt joined the Masonic lodge in Munich in 1777, the year after he founded the Illu-

minati. Once he joined, he reorganized the Illuminati in order to attract more Freemasons

to its ranks. While the Masons brought more influential members into Weishaupt’s society, it also led to disagreements between his ideals and those new members. Seeing trouble

and seizing an opportunity, the Bavarian government acted on disquiet at the prominence

of members in governmental positions, stepped in and disbanded what was left of

the Illuminati.

And still, this secret society was not unknown in the world. Letters from George Washing-

ton show that he was aware of the Illuminati’s plan to overthrow all current governments.

Despite the large number of Masons among American’s founding fathers, Washington was confident that none of his allies were interested in pursuing that agenda. Washington

wrote, on October 24, 1798,

…It was not my intention to doubt that, the Doctrines of the Illuminati, and principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more truly sat-

isfied of this fact than I am.

The idea that I meant to convey, was, that I did not believe that the Lodges of Free Ma-

sons in this Country had, as Societies, endeavoured to propagate the diabolical tenets of

the first, or pernicious principles of the latter (if they are susceptible of seperation). That

Individuals of them may have done it, or that the founder, or instrument employed to

found, the Democratic Societies in the United States, may have had these objects; and

actually had a seperation of the People from their Government in view, is too evident to be

questioned….

In a modern context, as a secret society, it is impossible to say if the Illuminati still exist to-

day or not, due to their very nature. How do you disprove something that is said to not exist?

There are many organizations that claim to have roots that trace back to the Illuminati though

they currently exist under different names. The formation of a one world government does

not, however, seem like such a far-fetched notion with increasing globalization and the

strong presence of multinational businesses and governmental styled agencies including the

IMF and the United Nations. But, how much of this is merely a perpetuation of the idea that a

shadow society is calling the shots by orchestrating the maneuvering of progress. Perhaps in

some respect, the ethos of the Illuminati is its legacy of its continuation in the modern world.

The use of Illuminati symbols in modern day culture helps to perpetuate the belief that the

secret society is still operating in the shadows and controlling many of the world’s events. The obvious symbolism of the All-Seeing Eye is linked pervasively with the Illuminati as seen

in many places, including the currency United States. The inclusion of on the currency is an

obvious chicken before the egg analogy that conspiracy theorists have latched onto as an

obvious and overt sign.

The pyramid, once again present on the American $1 bill, is said to represent the hierarchy

of the order. It is left unfinished to show that the goals of the society have not yet been ac-

complished. The Bavarian society did indeed have pyramids displayed at their meet-

ings though once again the same symbol is often attributed to the Masons.

The owl, too, is the symbol of the goddess Minerva who was the goddess of wisdom. The

Bavarian Illuminati who had reached Minerval status (in between Novice and Illuminated

Minerval) especially considered it a very important symbol and included it on their medal-

lions.

Some contemporary pretenders find a more nefarious image suggesting links to the occult.

In these instances, the pentagram is also sometimes said to be a symbol used by the Illumi-

nati in the practice of black magic. But the Bavarian society had no occult practices that we

know of in comparison to this modern day context. If a modern day Illuminati group claims

the practice of magic, they most likely have no true connection to the original order.

The reality behind the Illuminati is as shadowy as its existence. Their secret nature, com-

bined with the vast number of groups that claim lineage with them makes it impossible to

trace their activities through history. Much of what is currently known about the Illuminati is

little more than guesswork and greatly influenced by the sensational depiction of them in

popular culture.

Top Illuminati Conspiracies

Everyone famous is in the Illuminati, including Jay-Z, the Pope (all of

them), Usain Bolt, Glenn Beck, Queen Elizabeth II, George Bush, and

Lady Gaga are members. Taylor Swift and Howard Stern are some of

its biggest promoters. Stanley Kubrick was an insider who tried to ex-

pose it in his film Eyes Wide Shut, and the patron saint of the Masonic

silver screen, Nicolas Cage, makes films in promoting its ideals.

That a “global elite” society that is either in control of, or is seeking to take control of, the world.

That Freemasonry and Satanism are the driving forces behind the Illumi-

nati.

That they seek to form a one-world government, a one-world monetary

system and a one-world religion.

The entertainment industry is controlled by the Illuminati.

Organizations like the United Nations, European Union, the World Health

Organization, the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, G-20

Economic Group, the World Court, NATO, Council on Foreign Rela-

tions, World Council of Churches and various multinational corpora-

tions are pawns of the New World Order.

Denver is an Illuminati world domination layover site to off the grid

blacked out labor camps.

Gay Activism and feminism are an Illuminati Conspiracy.

That the Illuminati is governed by a race of shape-shifting reptilian pedo-

philes who are ultimately behind an “Orwellian Global Super state” The moon is the home base of the Illuminati.

Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 astronaut who was the 6th man to walk on the moon, has died in Florida, according to The Associated Press. He was 85. This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the Apollo 14 mission, which lasted from January 31 – February 9, 1971. A capable pilot and man of diverse and colorful interests, Mitchell was the Lunar Module Pilot on his lone trip into space. During the mission he and Commander Alan Shepard spent more than nine hours on the lunar surface, collecting 95 pounds of rock samples, walking over two miles, and in Shepard’s case, golfing. The success of Apollo 14 in 1971 was important to NASA following the nearly-catastrophic Apollo 13 mission.“Had we blown it, had it failed for whatever reason, that would probably have been the end of the Apollo program right there,” Mitchell said in a 1997 interview. “Looking at Earth from space and seeing it was a planet in isolation… that was an experience of ecstasy, realizing that every molecule in our bodies is a system of matter created from a star hanging in space,” Mitchell told The Telegraph in 2014. “The experience I had was called Samadhi in the ancient Sanskrit, a feeling of overwhelming joy at seeing the Earth from that perspective.” During the return voyage Mitchell conducted a series of ESP experiments attempting to communicate messages with friends on Earth. He claimed the

experiments were successful but some in NASA were uncomfortable with his public fascination with telepathy. After leaving NASA he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences to study consciousness and paranormal phenomena. He was also interested in faith healing and on numerous occasions spoke to the press about his beliefs in UFOs. Mitchell was born on September 17, 1930, in Hereford, Texas. He received a degree in Industrial Management from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1952 before joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy he completed his Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1964. He was selected to be an astronaut in 1966. According to his daughter, Kimberly Mitchell, he died at a West Palm Beach hospice after a short illness.
