Brethren;
I had the pleasure of attending
Jobs Daughters this last weekend and
recommend any brother that has time
to do so. They restore our faith in the
future. The Ladies have a great time
and I was an interview Judge and was
pleasantly surprised at the work they
do. Their ritual puts most Lodges to
shame. The ladies are very into their
work and beliefs.
We have another busy month and want to share a couple
things with the Brethren. If you have not signed up for the Golf
tournament for the VA please do so as the slots fill up fast. I
need to thank the Lodge for the support they have given me
and the VA Homes. I will be out of town for the Parade and
hope that some of you can make it on the 14th of May as this is
an annual thing we do to promote Masonry.
I think if we can make one person smile then we have
accomplished much.
The new Brothers are moving through very nicely and we have
some new ones coming in so it looks great for Masonry in the
coming years. When you see someone in Lodge shake his
hand and thank him for coming. It means the world to him and
will bring him back. And as always keep family, work and God
first before Masonry.

Wow, another month, It seems the older I get the faster time moves. I guess I should be writing to you about the up coming 51's baseball game (May 27th) or about volunteering in the community or learning a part in the degrees. But, Id like to write about something a little more dear to my heart, brotherhood. Masonry, I believe is a place where truth is sought whether it be science, politics, spirituality, or anything. It fights for truth and ask men with good character, not just personality, to join and hold the course. I can tell you that in the few shorts years that I’ve been involved in Freemasonry I’ve had some disappointments, but those disappointment have been muted by men that have real character, men with honor. We haven’t always sought the right sort of man, instead looking for numbers or just taking the investigation seriously. Freemasonry is not for everyman. It is only for men with honor, who realize that not every other good man is exactly the same. It is for good men who are on a constant search for enlightenment and tolerance, and seek other good men to assist them. It’s for men who seek truth in history but aren’t mired in antedated traditions. I know that I am relatively new. I know that as my opinion goes there is much for me to learn. But, I am willing to keep learning. I am willing to expand my beliefs or even replace them with higher truths. What I really want, is to let all my brothers know that I am very proud to be their brother and I am willing to learn from each of you.
Thank You, Scott

Hello and greetings from the south, The next few months are going to be very busy for us. We have the fire-works booth which will require all the help from the brothers as we can this year. As we all know the condi-tion of the economy and we have had several brothers unable to pay their dues this year so the fireworks booth is our main source of income for the lodge. Please come out and support your lodge this year as well as having lots of fun. Contact me or Harold to let us know what time you are available. Thank you in advance for your support. We also are having our Annual Table Lodge during the sec-ond week of June. There will be liberations available through the purchase of tickets. Also, there is a limit of two tickets per person. The menu will consist of a bacon wrapped filet, boneless BBQ chicken breasts, a healthy salad, hot rolls and delicious cake for dessert. The pricing for the event has yet to be determined … but please come out and enjoy the festivities. Finally, we are scheduling our Family Picnic. I am sure we will have as much or more fun this year as we did last year. Dave Lublin is in charge of the event so please keep that in your plans. Yours faithfully, Charles Wirth J.W.

Arabian Fables By Brian Higgins
Death Rides a Fast Horse
"A rich and mighty Persian was walking in his garden with a servant.
The servant cried out that he had just seen a vision of the Angel of
Death, who pointed at him. The servant begged his master to give
him a fast horse so that he could make haste and flee. The master
consented and the servant galloped away on the horse. Later, the
servant died from a fall from the horse.
Why Am I Here?
An idiot came to a great city, and he was confused by the number of
people in the streets. Fearing that if he slept and woke again he
would not be able to find himself among so many people, he tied a
ribbon to his ankle for identification. A practical joker knowing what
he had done, waited until he was asleep, then removed the ribbon
and tied it around his own leg. He, too, lay down on the floor to
sleep. The fool woke first, and saw the ribbon. At first he thought that
the other man must be him. When the joker denied it, the idiot
asked, "If you are not me, then who, for heaven's sake, am I?"
Isa and the Doubters
Isa (meaning Jesus), the son of Miryam, was walking in the desert
with a number of people in whom covetousness was still strong.
They begged Isa to tell them the Secret Name by which he restored
the dead to life. He said, "If I tell you, you will abuse it." They said,
"We are ready and fitted for such knowledge; besides, it will rein-
force our faith." "You do not know what you ask," Isa said, but he
told them the Word. Afterwards, these people were walking in a de-
serted place when the saw a heap of whitened bones. "Let us make
a trial of the Word," they said to one another, and they did. No
sooner had the Word been pronounced than the bones became
clothed with flesh and became a ravening wild beast, which tore
them to shreds.

Do you know this Brother?
At an annual election of officers there were present 18 members of the
Lodge. Seventeen votes were cast upon the election of Senior Warden.
One Brother received 9 votes and another received 8. Upon the counting of
the votes, a Brother who had not voted arose and stated that if he had
voted, he would have voted for the Brother receiving the 8 votes. The
Brother receiving the majority of votes actually cast is elected. The Brother
remaining silent until the ballot was declared closed lost his right to vote
and had no right to say for whom his ballot would have been cast had he
voted. (Nevada Masonic Code Dec. No. 75)
