ROSE PARADE RV Rally Everything is coming up roses! It’s America’s New Year’s celebration – the time when the rest of the world focuses its eyes on Pasadena, California for the pageantry, excitement, flowers and music which make up the annual Rose Parade. For 128 years, the Rose Parade has ushered in the New Year to millions of people. This year, Fantasy is proud to continue our tradition of bringing this event to life for Fantasy guests at our annual Rose Parade Rally! The 2018 Parade, sports the theme ‘Making a Difference’ and celebrating acts of human kindness. It’s not just the Parade – there’s a lot more going on in Pasadena! Fantasy makes negotiating the Parade and the many other activities taking place during the New Year’s period extremely fun and easy. We set up camp on December 28, 2017 at East Shore RV Park in San Dimas overlooking Puddingston Lake which is part of Bonelli Regional Park. There’s a Welcome Dinner and Orientation in our own private Hospitality Tent and after dinner, we have the opportunity to actually get into the spirit of the event when we join a float decorating committee to help decorate some of the Rose Parade floats themselves – all of which must be covered 100% with natural flowers, plants or seeds. This is an extraordinary evening that wins the hearts of all and makes this Rose Parade rally one of the most enriching vacations ever. The next day we head out to EquestFest – here the Parade’s beautiful horses and talented riders gather for a pre-Parade show where they demonstrate their talents which they might not be able to perform during the Parade itself. That evening, we’re in for an amazing, festive Cuban dinner at the famous Coco Palm Restaurant. Day 3 dawns bright and early with a tour to check on the float decorating progress and smell the roses and other floral delights at the decorating tents. Our buses cruise Colorado Boulevard - heading for BandFest – featuring performances of many of the marching bands we’ll see strutting their stuff on Parade day. We will bring along a gourmet box lunch to BandFest and have a terrific barbeque dinner that evening back at our campground. The next morning, we head to the famous Huntington Gardens – home to twelve gardens with more than 15,000 varieties of plants from all over the world, We enjoy a lovely lunch at the Huntington Café and a visit to the Library – which

has on display some of the finest rare books and manuscripts including Ellesmere manuscript of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, a Gutenberg Bible on vellum, the double-elephant folio edition of Audubon’s Birds of America, and a world-class collection of the early editions of Shakespeare’s works. The Art Gallery, once the home of Henry Huntington and his wife, was opened in 1928 and displays one of the greatest collections of 18th-century British art in the country, including the celebrated Blue

Boy by Thomas Gainsborough and Pinkie by Thomas Lawrence. Over the years, the collections have grown enormously and now contain many great works of art of the Italian, French and Netherlandish schools, as well as a broader range of British art and design. It’s New Year’s Eve! Fantasy certainly knows how to throw a party! Join fellow guests at the Hospitality Tent for an evening of dinner, dance, and flowing libations with lots of

fun, games and contests. We end the night early – celebrating 2018 on Eastern Time (9 p.m. in California) as we have an early morning for the big day ahead at the Rose Parade!
