INTRODUCTION

Ticket Depot is an optional software/hardware component of the Vector Plus Center Network System.

The Ticket Depot option is also available for installation in an External Point Of Sale (EPOS) environment, such as Micros™. When the option is installed in conjunction with an EPOS interface, the following limitations exist:

1. Ticket Depot units must be enabled each time a lane is issued. This is accomplished by accessing the function in the VP Desk application and issuing a command to enable the device. Note that this command is issued over the network – there is no need to go to the actual device and enable it in a physical manner.

2. Any additional fees that the center may wish to charge bowlers for the use of Ticket Depot units must be accounted for in the EPOS system.

3. The Ticket Depot Payout Ratio Report and the Cash Audit Log Report will not be available in an EPOS environment.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Vector Plus Center Network System (CNS) version 5.104 or greater.

Ticket Depot units(s) hardware and cabling must be installed and the Ticket Depot units configured prior to performing the software installation. Refer to the installation manual for complete information on installing the hardware portion of the Ticket Depot option.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

The Vector Plus Ticket Depot software is activated by an option disc that will ship with the Ticket Depot order. The software is activated on the Vector Plus server computer by inserting the disc in the DVD tray of the server. The disc will autorun and activate the software in a few seconds. Remove the disc from the tray once the process is completed and store the disc with the other Vector Plus software materials.

Note: The software activation step is completed on the server only. There is no need to activate the software on the client computers of the Vector Plus CNS.

VECTOR PLUS OFFICE SETUP

After the software has been activated on the server, the Vector Plus Office application will need to be configured in order to use the Ticket Depot units.

Security – Roles Page

Existing Vector Plus roles may need to be edited in order to grant access to the Ticket Depot functions in the VP Desk Settings Tab.

Existing Vector Plus roles may need to be edited in order to grant access to the Ticket Depot function in the Office Settings Tab.

Note: The Roles need to be setup correctly in order for staff members to utilize the Ticket Depot units in the desired manner. Refer to the Vector Plus Management Guide for more information on Roles.

Ticket Depot – Settings Page

This page is used to configure the settings for the Ticket Depot units. The checkbox for “Enable ticket system” must be enabled and saved in order to access the other areas of the page.

Enable frame bonuses section

When this section is enabled, the operator indicates the number of tickets that will be dispensed from the unit when a bowler bowls the corresponding value in a frame. If the section is enabled, the unit will dispense the indicated number of tickets for a bowler on the lane when he completes each frame event that has a ticket value indicated that is greater than zero. Payouts for frames recorded when a foul occurs can be cancelled if the checkbox for the feature is enabled. Only one (1) frame event payout will occur per frame for each bowler.

Enable end of game bonuses section

When this section is enabled, the operator indicates the number of tickets that will be dispensed from the unit when a bowler completes a game. If the section is enabled, the unit will dispense the indicated number of tickets for a bowler on the lane when he completes his game and scores within a game range indicated on the page. Tickets will be dispensed for all values greater than zero. Only one (1) end-of-game bonus level will payout for each bowler.

Report Settings – Ticket value

This setting is used to specify a “cash equivalent” factor for a ticket. This “value” multiplied by “the number of tickets dispensed” is used for the Ticket Depot Payout Ratio report.

Cash Control – Modifiers Page

When the Ticket Depot option is enabled in Vector Plus, the Modifiers page in the VP Office application will have an additional setting available for Ticket Depot installations.

A modifier can be created on this page that allows Desk users to add the Ticket Depot modifier to a Scoring Product when issuing the lane or lane range. The modifier can be created as a zero price, or as a priced item that would add the indicated amount to the price of bowling games or time.

Example: The operator would like to charge an additional $0.50 for each game of bowling when using the Ticket Depot unit.

It would be necessary to create a modifier that would be added to the Scoring Product for Game Bowling in this example.

The Ticket Depot modifier could now be used when issuing a lane from the Front Desk. This modifier could be selected, when the lane is being issued, and the additional $0.50 would be added to each game on the receipt. More than one modifier may be built for this purpose.

Issuing Lanes Using a Ticket Depot Modifier

1. Select a lane or lane range.

2. Select the desired product.

This button is used to send the settings that have been created, or modified, in the Office application to the Ticket Depot units that are installed in the center. This button could be used in the event the settings were first established, or were later modified.

Tickets Box

The user may select this box and enter a number of tickets that should be dispensed from the unit when the Dispense Tickets button is selected. This option might be used to reward tickets to a customer for some event such as a birthday gift. The function may also be used to dispense tickets if a malfunction of the device occurred.

Dispense Tickets

This button is used to cause the unit to dispense the indicated number of tickets immediately.

Stop Dispensing Tickets

This button is used to stop the unit from dispensing tickets if a malfunction occurred. The unit will remain enabled and dispense tickets normally for the next event specified.

Ticket Depot Reports

Two Ticket Depot reports are available.

Payout Over Time

This report allows the operator to indicate a date range for the information. Once the date range is indicated, the operator will select the checkmark to display the report for the range.

A report similar to below will be presented, indicating the total number of tickets dispensed during the period indicated.

Payout Ratio

This report allows the operator to indicate a date range for the information. Once the date range is indicated, the operator will select the checkmark to display the report for the range.

A report similar to below will be presented.

The Ticket Depot Payout Ratio report provides a comparison of the income from bowling sales and the tickets paid out. The “Ticket Value” in the report is the number in the “Ticket Count” column, multiplied by the “Ticket Value” on the Ticket Depot Settings page in the Office application. The “Bowling Sales” column is the price of the product sold multiplied by the number of games (or time) bowled. The “Payout Ratio” column is “Ticket Value” divided by “Bowling Sales”.

The Ticket Depot firmware version is recorded in the report each time the service starts and every time a unit is plugged in. Also recorded in the log is a notation whenever a unit is having communication problems.

Cash Tools – Reports – Cash Audit Log

The Cash Audit Log report will display information regarding manually dispensed tickets and when units were enabled by using the Tasks function in the Desk application.
