We would like to wish Ashlea Fistric all the best as she begins parental leave. This is an exciting time for Ashlea and her husband as they prepare for the arrival of their first child.

Dad’s and Mate’s Breakfast

It was great to see so many Dads and Mates at school last Friday morning for our annual breakfast. This is always a fun event and one which everyone enjoys. Also, a special thank you to staff for once again arriving at school by 7.00am to provide our Dads and Mates with a yummy breakfast.

School Captain’s Report– farwell Michelle

Launching Place Primary School would like to thank you for being our

supervisor at Extend before and After school care. The students know that

you do awesome things with them such as cooking, making things, slime and

outside games, movies and lots more. We hope your new job is just as much fun as the one you have

now. Launching Place Primary School students and staff would like to wish you all the best in your future

endeavours.

Hats are Back from Friday September 1st For many years most state schools followed a simple but effective rule; that the wearing of school hats in terms 1 and 4 was compulsory and in terms 2 and 3 it was not. The Cancer Council of Victoria changed their policy a little while back and now remind schools that to be considered a SunSmart school, as we are at Launching Place, hats must be worn at

all times whilst outdoors at school between September and April. This means for the final two weeks of this term, hats will need to be worn at school by all children. The good news is our uniform shop always has a large number of hats available in all sizes.

Father’s Day Stall - Thank You ——————————

A big thank you to Bianca and the P&F team, for all of the hard work involved in organising and running the

Father’s Day stall. Thank you to all the other volunteers who helped to make the stall a seamless and enjoyable

experience for our students.

Flu season is still upon us and even though we have entered spring the flu is still in full

swing. We advise if your child has a cold / flu to please keep them at home as this will

help eliminate the spread of cold and flu. We also have had some children with tummy

ache and gastro. If your child has been vomiting please keep them away from School

for at least 24 hours after the last episode. A reminder to always wash hands with soap

frequently. This will help keep our School community in good health.

BSC – A game of Twister and Hula Hoops was played this Morning. ASC – Silent Ball was the hit this afternoon.

Tuesday BSC – Sprout Ball was played in the GP room this Morning. ASC – We had a Movie night and watched Charlotte's Web.

Wednesday BSC – Table Soccer and GP room Games were the focus this morning. ASC – Kick Ball was the game of the day today.

Thursday BSC – Aaron finished off his Fathers Day Poster & everyone played in the GP room. ASC - Hide and Seek was the game of the afternoon.

Friday BSC – Everyone enjoyed Breakfast with their dads this Morning. ASC – We danced, We Skipped and we played octopus. NOTICE This week is my last week; I am moving on to bigger and better opportu-nities. Thank you for all your support and acceptance during my time at Extend Before and After School Care. I will miss everyone very much and hope to see you all around once in a while. 2017 Victorian Schools Wildwater

Championships

Mr Devisser has introduced Kayaking into many schools over the past few years.

2017 Victorian Wildwater Championships were held in Warrandyte last Sunday and

Launching Place Primary School were vey proud to have two of our students participating

in this event.

Haidyn G took first place in his age group. Well done Haidyn! Well done to Cienna G for

also taking part in this slalom event. Mrs Messerle took some time to watch and support

these amazing athletes in their slalom events .

DONATIONS: Thank you to everyone who has brought in donations for our hampers.

We still need some more items and would like to start making hampers in first week

back after school holidays. We really appreciate the donations we have received.

WRISTBANDS: Please see our flyer about our unlimited ride wristbands. They are $25

untill the 22nd September, then $30. Rides/activities included are:

Bubble soccer

Dart soccer

Laser skirmish

Jumping castle

Bungee run

Individual rides are $6 each. The kids are super excited.

SPONSORSHIP: Sponsorship is an integral part of making our Twilight Country Fair a success. Sponsors provide much needed funds that go towards our cause, and it’s also a great way for businesses to gain exposure to a large audience leading up to and at our Country Fair. The support of our sponsors in 2015 was greatly appreciated and went a long way towards upgrading some of our outdoor areas and playgrounds. Support of the 2017 Twilight Country Fair will be directed towards maintaining our outstanding school facilities. We are planning to cover our basketball court and upgrade our school oval. We have a three-year project in place to achieve these goals and hopefully paint the school inside and out. This project will enhance the appearance of the school and ensure that our students are learning in an inviting and attractive environment. Future editions of our Twilight Country Fair Newsletter will showcase all our wonderful sponsors.

Permanent Cuttings Sticker

Carawah Nursery (Hoddles Creek) would like to appoint a permanent cuttings

sticker. We require someone that is conscientious, neat and tidy, someone that

can take on responsibility for this department and works as a team, supervising

others at time and liaising with other crews. Responsibilities will include sticking

cuttings to a high standard, following instruction as to what hormone to use, tray

layout, location of cuttings in fog houses, fog house cleanliness and hygiene and

turning heat beds on and off as required. Other nursery tasks will be undertaken

from time to time.

Experienced Propagator/Nursery Hand Position Carawah Nursery (Hoddles Creek) is looking for an experienced Propagator/Nursery Hand. With an ever in-

creasing demand and a constantly growing business, our orders are stretching our manpower! We need some-

one who firstly has the right attitude, a good work ethic and can work in a team environment and on occasions

work individually. You will be required to perform many skills within the nursery business, including but not

limited to propagation of cuttings, tubing/potting up struck cuttings, assisting with grading orders, and other

tasks such as general maintenance. Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work in all weather conditions are

essential. This position could be offered as a full-time position, however we can work in with other arrangements

also for the right person. Propagation experience most desirable but willingness to learn Carawah Nurseries

systems required.
