Middle Sub School
In the Middle Sub School we are
learning to understand how digital
devices work around us
Students are learning how the different
parts of a computer lsquotalkrsquo to one another to
send messages They are learning what
happens when a command is made and how it
is acted upon
From here we have discovered other devices
that exist around the home and school that
do not look like a computer but still send
messages to each other Like a microwave
oven fridge and television Wow
The MSS has also been focusing on
using flow charts over the last few

MSS Excursion to the Melbourne Museum
and Shrine of Remembrance
On Friday the 26th of May 34 A B C and D went to the Melbourne Museum and also
the Shrine of Remembrance Inside the Melbourne Museum we looked at the lsquoFirst
Peoples Exhibitionrsquo and learnt that the Indigenous people were the first people on the
land We also found out about the Stolen Generation and how this impacted on the

At the Shrine of Remembrance we saw many symbols that represent WW1 and WW2
We were able to watch a small memorial service in the Sanctuary with the Last Post

Song Room Performance for
Education Week ~
Healthy Mind Healthy Body
On Thursday the 25th of May
34A and 34B went to Deakin
Edge Federation Square to
perform for Education
Week
The Middle Sub School
students have been working
with Tyson from the Song
Room every week on
Thursdays and Fridays to
create a dance for the
school concert in Term 3
We were lucky enough to
perform in front of other
schools from Victoria what
we have learnt so far
We saw other schools
perform with different
instruments like the drums
violins cellos and guitars
All the students from 34A
and 34B were nervous and
excited at the same time
However we performed a
great show and received a
huge cheer from the
audience We canrsquot wait to
do it again

participate in a special lsquoWelcome to Countryrsquo ceremony flag raising and tree planting activity
The 13 students who went with Mrs Sandford-Ricci and Mrs Engel were a credit to our school

Before the ceremonies began we had a look at some
special animals (Yes they are real but they are not alive)
Here they are with the mayor Councillor Jim Memeti
who attended our school as a primary student
This is our horticulturist Willy who told us all about
the benefits of Eucalyptus and Wattle trees
Students are planting their trees
Here are the finished trees planted and ready to take home ndash Mrs Engel
