Reliability engineering is an important engineering discipline that applies scientific know-how to a component, assembly, plant, or process so it will perform its intended function, without failure, for the required time duration when installed and operated correctly in a specified environment. This 3-day training course covers the fundamentals of reliability, maintainability and availability (RAM) analysis and their applications as well as provides a clear explanation on the importance of the analysis in relation to maintenance and operation performances. The course demonstrates the practical steps in using the failure data and downtime data to estimate reliability and maintainability of repairable systems. In addition, the integration of reliability, availability and maintainability in RAM model for the system will be developed and analyzed using simulation method. The course is taught in a language and style that practicing managers and engineers can understand and apply easily, utilizing real industrial case studies through hands on practices. 1. Basic probability and statistics In: Reliability Probability theory Common failure distributions Life data analysis (LDA) for non- repairable components 2. Recurrent Data Analysis for repairable system 3. Repairable System Analysis with Reliability Block Diagram 4. RAM Modeling and Analysis On completion of this course, participants will be able to demonstrate the ability to: Perform reliability analysis for both non-repairable and repairable components/systems Develop RAM model to assess the system availability with both planned and unplanned repair maintenance Perform systematic analysis to maximize plants availability performance.

Reliability engineering is an important

engineering discipline that applies scientific

know-how to a component, assembly, plant, or

process so it will perform its intended function,

without failure, for the required time duration

when installed and operated correctly in a

specified environment.

This 3-day training course covers the

fundamentals of reliability, maintainability and

availability (RAM) analysis and their

applications as well as provides a clear

explanation on the importance of the analysis

in relation to maintenance and operation

performances. The course demonstrates the

practical steps in using the failure data and

downtime data to estimate reliability and

maintainability of repairable systems. In

addition, the integration of reliability,

availability and maintainability in RAM model

for the system will be developed and analyzed

using simulation method. The course is taught

in a language and style that practicing

managers and engineers can understand and

apply easily, utilizing real industrial case

studies through hands on practices.

1. Basic probability and statistics

In:

Reliability

Probability theory

Common failure

distributions

Life data analysis (LDA) for

non- repairable components

2. Recurrent Data Analysis for

repairable system

3. Repairable System Analysis

with Reliability Block Diagram

4. RAM Modeling and Analysis

On completion of this course, participants will be able to

demonstrate the ability to:

Perform reliability analysis for both non-repairable and

repairable components/systems

Develop RAM model to assess the system availability with both

planned and unplanned repair maintenance

Perform systematic analysis to maximize plant’s availability

performance.
