China is the most populated country in the world, increasingly contributing to global climate change, exploiting limited resources, and contributing to atmospheric pollution.

Coal is a poor energy resource

• it burns smog and emits carbon into the atmosphere

• calls for dangerous mining practices that threatens lives and safety of workers

• it is a non-renewable source of energy

Coal accounts for over 75% of China’s commercial energy consumption!

It is most important for China to begin implementing

use of solar energy

National Energy Administration

• In October, China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) published a notice that revealed the difficulties they are facing in effort to being utilizing solar energy.

• Such difficulties include approval processes, augmented costs, and many hands in the market

Liu Chang• Founder of Chinese solar industry, Solarzoom

!

!

• He thinks the NEA publication is actually a step forward in implementing solar energy in China!

(indicative of their difficulties)

NEA• plans to construct a PV power station on

underutilized land with conditions fit for generating mass amounts of energy

• plans to use hydroelectric power in union with solar to optimize the use of renewable power resources

China

• has never had a good reputation with eco-friendly technology so we are hopeful to see changes
