President’s Report
BY MICHAEL RASMUSSEN
I'm honored to serve as president once again! We can only
hope that 2020 is in our rearview mirror and we will not have to
endure it for much longer. We’re still in Phase 1 of the lockdown,
no restaurant or bar, but all the ranges are open along with
some of our events. Mask and distancing are still required! We
are able to have our general membership meetings, but with
limitations; for now, we will be suspending the swearing in of new
members until we can have increased capacity in the hall.
There has been a good turnout for the ranges and especially for
the Saturday shotgun. So, come on out and enjoy.
The Amazon Project has been going full tilt. We negotiated with
them for the overburden from the project and now have over
14,000 yards of material for our shotgun berm, with more to
come. The higher berm will give us more sound deflection and
safety. They have the picnic area torn up with the haul trucks, so
please be careful and patient. They should be done by mid to
late February and will restore the road and work area. It won't
be long before their building is erected, so continue to be
careful when you drive in and out on the easement road.
Start thinking about the upcoming Sportsmen’s Show. It is sched-
uled to be held March 17th-21st and we will need volunteers
for our booth and the Trout Pond. Sign up in the office or call
to have your name put on the list. We always appreciate
the help.
I'm looking forward to having you all come out and enjoy
the facilities. Keep posted to our web site and Facebook for
upcoming events and any changes!

Hello fellow shooters,
December 20th was our 3rd annual Christmas shoot. I want thank everyone that
showed up and participated. I hope everyone had a good time. January 24th is the
start of a new year and I hope to see you there. Are you new to this shoot?
If you would like to give it a try, come on out and we’ll be happy to help you.
And the results for last month’s shoot are as follows.
AR class................................................Danny Perez with his 308
Benchrest.............................................Rick Rogers with his 6BR
Custom.................................................Roger McClelland with his 6BRX
Hunter...................................................Tom Coryell with his 7mm mag
Varmint.................................................Derek Losey with his 308
Iron sight...............................................Dave Smith
Stay well,
Rick Rogers, co-chair
Note from Sporting Clays:
With the new shooting season starting, Sporting Clays is in the need of VOLUNTEERS
to help out. We need folks who can put in time setting up the course, normally the
Monday before a shoot and finishing on the Friday before. The day of the shoot
keep machines topped off, remove and replace batteries and cables as needed.
After the shoot help with teardown that includes bringing in batteries, cables and
unused targets. That would also include bringing in the trash. Also needed is one
person to run the registration and sign up the day of the shoot, that usually runs from
8:30 am– 1:00pm, Training will be provided. This is a good way to get your volunteer
hours in for a reduction in annual dues. With registration you would get about 60
hours and the setup and field work will get you 200-250 hours a year.
Third Sunday of the month from January to September and a two day shoot in April.
Regards, Greg Willis, Jim Narlock and Bobby Trett
