Indian River County has a variety of local, state and federal programs available to companies that are interested in locating or expanding in the area and meet eligibility criteria. To attract new businesses to Indian River County, and encourage existing businesses to expand locally, Indian River County established the Local Jobs Grant incentive program. The program offers eligible “targeted” businesses financial incentives for creating new higher-wage full-time jobs within the County. Grants funds range from $3,000 to $7,000 per job, based on wages paid.

The Ad Valorem Tax Exemption (abatement) is available to eligible new and expanding businesses throughout Indian River County, including the cities of Fellsmere, Vero Beach and Sebastian. The exemption is applied to the increased value from improvements made by the company to existing real property and tangible personal property and can remain in effect up to 10 years. The exemption period is determined by job creation, wage criteria and capital investment.
