Originating from Colombia’s Caribbean, my family instilled in me the mentality that to get ahead in

life you had to work very hard.

Part of that is true but through a great friend of mine and mentor I discovered people who actually

made on a single month and even on a single week what college graduates and professionals make

in two years.

Little did I know I would soon find out how little I knew about the world and about our possibilities.

I remember when I personally started meeting and befriending some of these people who were

amazing in my eyes.

They looked normal average people to me.

In fact, I came to realize that they are just like you and me.

From this point forward, my beliefs were shattered and my life will never be the same again.

David Wood tells his story of how he got started in the online industry and how he was able to

achieve his goal of not only making money but also doing it without owning a phone and talking to

people all day.

There is a disconnect where people think that he made his money online by doing article marketing

David Sharpe, one of the founders of Empower Network, recounts how he self -inflicted pain in his

early life.

He takes 100% responsibility for everything that happened to him.

Deciding he was not going to conform to the rules of society and to the rule of his house, he left to

be on his own and had his daughter at age 16.

He hit a financial bottom by working at a construction site fixing a toilet in a bathroom.

“I was robbing Peter to pay Paul”, said David.

By 2008 he had lost everything. He crawled into a room and asked a man to save his life.

That man was his father.

One day a friend of his named john, passed by and showed him the checks he was getting from

a company he was working with.

Despite being pretty closed minded by being negatively molded by society at the time, David

decided to take a look.

He opened up his mind by thinking that the opportunity could be an answer to his prayers.

Although Dave Sharpe did the traditional network marketing by getting his grandma to join the

business like in most traditional network marketing businesses, he did not succeed at first.

Rethinking his idea, he got on the internet.

He struggled with low self-esteem and a lot of other problems that people are afraid to talk about.

When he realized he had lost not only the love of his family and all he had left was an old 1994 F -

150 gray with the paint peeling off, he decided to make a change.

One of the main ingredients he attributes to success is inspiration and learning “how to make

friends and influence people”.

At first he was doing what everybody else was doing…

…it did not work.

Sharpe describes how he stumbled upon some information online and came to the realization

life, he claims he was still afraid to sell his old Ford F-150 because he did not know whether he was

going to need it.

Not only has Sharpe built a team of over 1,000 people in less than 90 days but also sponsored over

113 in less than 45 days resulting in upwards of five figure weeks.

Sharpe emphasizes the power of inspiration.

When he first got online, he was doing what everybody was doing and what he thought people

wanted to hear from him.

He was getting in front of the camera and used to comb his hair the way he thought others wanted to

see it.

One day he was inspired to tell his story and started telling people who he was and what he had

done in the past.

The minute he started telling his story, he started connecting with people on a deeper level.

That is how to make friends and influence people.

She has created an army of women and is an example of a great communicator.

“Her story feels real and authentic,” says Sharpe.

She has been on TV talking about the things and the issues that everyone else is afraid to talk

about.

He defines the wordless language of identification called empathy as the ability to relate to

somebody on a level that is deeper than the skin.

Sharpe explains that we are moving into an era where people are looking to connect and watch

reality TV instead of law and order.

People want to connect with people.

People want people.

This is the key to getting results without being a tech guru and to know how to make friends and
