A GED is pointless. I’m not going to waste my time.
WRONG! Most jobs do not hire without a GED or Diploma. Especially, jobs with adequate pay. If you want more, you got to give more. GED Classes ARE FREE!! After hours and pretest scores are met, you can receive a voucher for the testing. Do not have transportation: Classes held on site at RV and PEX drops off at CVCC.
Tuesday-Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM at Chuck Roberts Doesn’t fit your schedule: CVCC offers various times for any schedule. Call Haley Ramey to learn more 334-664-9991 ext 207
Cool. I got a GED, then what?
GLAD YOU ASKED!!! Get your GED while dually enrolling in college. CVCC will walk you through during the process so you won’t be over-
whelmed! CVCC’s certificate programs do not have enough graduates for the amount of
employers calling to hire! They pay well, too y’all!
Don’t play. I KNOW college isn’t free, though.
BUT IT IS!!! CVCC has a scholarship for a full-ride for gradu-ating high schoolers AND adults who have been out of high
school for 5 or more years. Deadline is 6/15 so call me ASAP to apply. FASFA Deadline in 6/30.
ANNNNND WIOA funds certain programs at certain schools IN
FULL until Associate’s Degree is obtained.
Don’t let your future pass you up! Haley Ramey 334-664-9991 ext 207
Through partnership with CVCC, we have found a way to provide easier, bite-size programs to help you reach your
brighter future.

Summer break is here, and there are some things that we must prepare for! Our number one goal is to provide a safe and sanitary living environment for all our residents. During the summer months, the focus shifts more to the safety of our children. Parents, when operating your vehicles please drive slower than normal through the complex. ALL GUESTS OR VISITORS should not be taking the resident parking. Vehicles without a parking permit are subject to towing. Please make sure on weekends, we still follow
the rules and regulations of our lease agreement. This is your responsibility as the head of house-hold to make sure that your guests follow our rules which are in your lease agreement. Also, let’s keep our yards clean and let’s make sure that we are putting our garbage cans out weekly for trash pick-up.
Last but not least, make sure that we respect our housing community, this housing authority, and our neighbors, by following the rules and regulations of your lease agreement. Parents, keep your children in sight at all times and out of the neighbor’s yard, porches, flower beds, etc., so this summer can be a great
FUN SUMMER for us all.
And please remember, RENT IS DUE ON THE 1ST
OF EACH MONTH every month.
DON’T MISS THE RESOURCE FAIR AT THE FRED OCCUPANCY OFFICE ON JUNE 19th FROM 4-6!

Thanks for being a great community! Please continue to attend resource fairs and meetings! Here are a few reminders to keep our development great! Parking: Each apartment is assigned one (1) parking space. If you have more than one vehicle
please use the extra spaces in each lot or if it’s just for a short time, use the visitors spaces. Also, be considerate of the tenants that don’t own a vehicle, they may need their assigned spots for visiting fami-ly members.
Parking decals: Please get your parking decals for your vehicles. Bring in your registration. All cars that don’t have a decal are subject to being towed at the owners expense.
Parents: I am not able to open doors for anyone not head of household. I cannot unlock the door and let your child or teenager in if I do not speak to a parent first. Please call if needed.
Bulletin Boards: Each building is equipped with a board. Please check the boards from time to time. General information will be posted there occasionally instead of notices door to door.
Unstops: please be advised that there will be a charge added to your account for all unstops / clogs at your apartment. Pictures will be taken.
Newsletter: If there is anything that you would like to submit (accomplishments, awards, etc. ) to be published in the newsletter, please let me know.

Dear Residents, it’s that time of the year! School is out and it’s getting hot! Please keep in mind outside water use is not allowed on property due to the Housing Authority responsible for the water bill. Another reminder of no swimming pools or no bouncy play equipment for children are allowed on site. I know you
are limited to what to do for the children in the complex but there are other alternatives: Phenix City has a water park – located on 5
th St. So off Seale Rd, Housing Authority has Summer Camp for children, and
there are several parks that are available thru the city. Don’t forget about summer lunches free for anyone under 18 every week day starting at 11. Thank you for understanding and please be considerate and
make plans for the summer! We want everyone to have a nice summer and to get the children engaged in community activities.

Summer is here and school is out! Congratulations to our kids who were promoted to a higher level of learning in school this year. Please know that we are so proud of each of them. Getting an education is one of the most important and rewarding tools to have in life. In fact, success starts with a good educa-tional background, so therefore Mitchel and I would like to encourage our young people to aim high and
be all that they can be in life.
Be reminded that the summer food program will be held June 5 – July 28, 2017. This program is FREE to everyone 18 years of age and younger. There are several sites throughout the city, and a distinct hon-or has been afforded us because one of the sites is the Chuck Roberts Activity Center located right here in Riverview. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Please allow our kids to come and take advantage of
these free meals.
We can’t stress enough that parking spaces in the parking lots are for people who live in the complex and HAVE THE PROPER PARKING DECALS IN THEIR WINDOWS. Over-flow and guest parking should be done in the parking lot of the Chuck Roberts Activity Center. Remember, if an improper parked vehicle
gets towed, it is the owner’s responsibility to pay the tow fee to get it out. We wish nothing but the best for each of you. Please enjoy your summer!
Thanks, Kathy Johnson, Property Manager Mitchel Kilday, Office Assistant

BUYER BEWARE!!! It has come to PCHA’s attention of two recent fraudulent activities have occurred posing as the Housing Authority. To be clear, the Housing Authority does not charge for application fees for Public Housing or the Section 8 Program. Make sure you apply directly through the Housing Authority for applications and not through a poser third party site. We would never accept a form of payment outside of a rental office (i.e. park-ing lot, your home, etc). Section 8 clients, please beware of craigslist listings. GoSection8.com is where most of our clients find housing.
2017 Section 8 Applications are predicted to be opening soon. We will inform the general public once we have a confirmed date for the
