RESIDENT MEETINGS

Women Who Understand Outreach Ministries, Inc. had another successful event! Ms. Fluellen organized sponsors around the commu-nity that wanted to help make the Cinderella Love Ball a huge hit! The event was held at the Chuck Roberts Community Center on February 18th from 5-8 PM. There was music, refreshments, a photo booth and lots of fun! While the kids were enjoying their refreshments they were having a discussion about love. Kids were asked to describe what love meant to them and they shared things like: “treating each other with re-spect; protecting each other; loyalty; sharing and giving”, and so much more insightful responses! Officer Seavers and Officer Searcy were our special guests and they gave the kids a quick speech before leaving-letting them know they can always call them for anything. All kids got to leave with a goodie bag and a smile on their face! Watch out for more events to come; WWU is wanting to build a better community and they are not alone! Look below for ways to get involved, too!

Property Developments & Updates

On Wednesday February 15th, Riverview Apartments had a meeting about future resident relo-cation. PCHA was beyond grateful for the turnout– having over 80 people in attendance! The residents were informed that the process is very long and assured that they were not having to move anytime soon! The residents were assured they’d be informed of any updates along the way and that we would walk with them through this transition. The new presidential administration has pushed things back so PCHA explained that they are further behind than they intended to be when they began this conversa-tion years ago. Residents were informed about their potential moving options and told that there would be much more conversation about these options before a decision has to be made. The residents re-sponded with excellent questions– some that were not able to be answered yet but PCHA recorded the questions and assured everyone that once they know the answer they will create a FAQ document to be circulated within the community. The next meeting will be April 12th for the families in the buildings of Phase I of the redevelopment: 1002, 1004, 1006, 1007, 1102, 1104, 1105,1106 & 1107. More infor-mation to follow. Stay tuned with us on the exciting progress PCHA is making! C
