Amusing Alliteration

Famous Phoebe flips freckled frogs.

Phoebe, Kindy

Lucas licked lots of licorice lollypops and lollies.

Lucas, Kindy

Parker popped pink popcorn for his purple pigs.

Parker, Year 1

Happy, hungry Hugh hopped home with his hotdog.

Hugh, Year 2

Lovely Lana likes to lick lemon lollipops while lounging in the library. When sud-

denly a lion came in to look at Lana’s lollipop. The lion liked the lollipop. Lana

didn’t like the lion so she went to the laboratory. In the laboratory, she looked at

a lamb. The lamb was angry so the lamb threw a lamp at Lana. Lana went out-

side to look for ladybirds when she saw a lady on a ladder. Lana finished her

lemon lollipop and left to walk home to have lemonade.

Lana, Year 4

Ecstatic Elisabeth enjoys emu eggs during an Eminem concert. After Eminem,

Elisabeth went on an enthusiastic elephant to the equator. The equator was

extremely exotic and epic. Elisabeth’s enthralling day ended eerily when her

enthusiastic elephant exploded without explanation.

Elisabeth, Year 6

Young Leaders Conference

On Saturday 24th of March, I travelled to Sydney for the Young Leaders Conference. This is a conference for year 6 students from all over NSW. It is run by the Halogen Foundation, whose work is to inspire & influence young people to lead themselves and others well. It was held at the Entertainment Centre. It was really strange to be sitting in this huge building with nearly 7000 other year 6 students and their teachers. Mrs Bourke and I got some weird looks from big groups of students and their teachers but I know there were other small schools there too. The day was filled with speakers talking about their experiences as leaders. The two I liked the most were Anh Do and Ronni Kahn. Anh Do got the biggest cheer. He is a comedian and writer who came out to Australia on a refugee boat from Vietnam. We bought his book, The Happiest Refugee, and I was hoping to have my photo taken with him but he had to leave after his performance. Ronni Kahn set up Oz Harvest, a company which collects lefto-ver food and delivers it to charities. Both of these people seemed really nice and enjoyed giving to others.

Young Leader’s Conference

Hyper Dash

Our new PE game,

Hyperdash, has

been a huge hit. The

game challenges

the kids listening

and comprehension

skills, as they re-

spond to instructions

when they hit col-

oured domes. Agility

and speed are test-

ed throughout the

game. Maths skills

are applied. Integrat-

ed learning and fun!

Skipping

The glorious weather this term has helped produce a zeal for skipping. ‘I can’ts’

and frustrated groans have disappeared due to persistence , listening and re-

sponding to support, and taking risks. The right attitude and effort have brought

smiles and skipping success.

We did it...our vegie bed now!
