We are down to the final week of term and Parker, Emily, Phoebe and Charlotte are showing us little gems of information about their learn- ing everyday. Parker happily accepting advice on how to make his writing more interesting by adding additional details. Phoebe quietly putting her head down and determinedly writing a complete piece in- dependently. Charlotte trying to write a sentence ‘all by herself’. Emily, casually say- ing, “oh yeah, it’s one of those rules ci makes an s sound when wanting to spell circus”. They are all enthusiastically using their skills and Tracey and I are enthusiastically applauding each one. The DEC instability at the moment may be causing us some unwanted frustrations but working with our happy little vegemite's each day certainly reminds us why we love teaching. Our two Small Schools Days were resounding successes. The New Zealand author, Craig Smith, captured every- one’s hearts, with his colour- ful renditions of his popular books. Nowendoc, captured Craig’s heart; rising early he spotted a platypus and our koala mum and bub bid him good bye. He hopes this will fuel his enthusiasm for a book idea, which has been bubbling away - Ko-ality Time. Clinton and his Circus Skills had everyone up and testing their abilities. Soccer

Soccer Competition Awards As you can see, Nicholas, Emily and Parker, were very proud recipients of

their Participation/Encouragement Trophies.

Each Saturday during winter they have travelled between Armidale and

Walcha to join with new friends to play in the local Soccer Competition.

The purchase of soccer goals at school enabled Emily and Parker to prac-

tise their skills and for all of us to have fun.

The gardens open are:

Herbert & Gwen Higgins – “Weegoona” Tops Road, Nowendoc

George & Sue Lyon - “The Springs”, Thunderbolts Way, Nowendoc

Hot water, tea and coffee will be available in the gardens and you are invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens at your leisure.

Entry by gold coin in the donation box at the entrance of each garden.
