RBC Family and Friends:

Do you believe it? Summer has ended and cooler weather is on the way. God has blessed us abundantly. Continue to pray for the victims of all of this summer’s disasters.

I’m so excited about October, 2019. Rosanky Baptist Church is having another birthday! Happy 103rd Birthday to RBC, on October 27th. It’s going to be an amazing day. We will begin the day with a Continental Breakfast from 9:00am to 10:00am. Then, @ 10:15am, the Aragon Family will bring a great morning concert which will continue into the morning worship celebration. We hope to have many friends and guests blessing us with their presence. It’ll truly be a Family event. Following the morning worship, we will have dinner on the grounds, to fellowship and celebrate the day of blessing. There will be no Sunday School or evening worship on this day.

A hundred and three years ago, God placed His hand on this Church (His Church), and the foundation was laid. The devil has tried in vain to destroy her, yet her foundation remains strong. So many wonderful people committed and paid the price to endure, so that we might celebrate God’s glorious blessings this day. There have been times of victory and times of hardship, yet the foundation remains strong. “I’ve read the back of the Book; and we win!” While the world seems to be ever changing and the foundations of society are shaken, our foundation, built on Jesus Christ, remains strong. As the song says, “My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

The ancient psalmist asks a question extremely relevant to our day: “If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?” While thinking on this, I found encouragement in Paul’s final letter: “Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, the Lord knows them that are His…” (2 Timothy 2:19a). What a great promise! The foundation that God has laid will not be destroyed, no matter how bad the world becomes; no matter how intense the wickedness, God’s standard is not subject to change. God and His Word are immutable, and never change. The world is changing, and maybe we are too, but the Foundation remains strong.

The celebration of the past and positive outlook for the future, depend on keeping the ‘FOUNDATION’ solid. Let’s continue to build on the solid foundation that God has laid—Who He is and His Word! COME, LET’S CELEBRATE! Let’s have everyone in attendance and “EACH ONE, BRING ONE”. To God be the glory, great things He has done…and will continue to do at Rosanky Baptist Church. See you in Bible Study and worship each week.

Education Ministry: “REACHING, TEACHING,

and SERVING” to the glory of God!

2019: Intimacy with the Almighty!

It’s October, and cooler weather is on its way. Thank God for the relief that Fall brings. We continue to pray for all those who are recovering from disasters around our country. God continues to reveal Himself as the great and mighty God we serve.

We are blessed to be able to open our Bibles and study God’s Word together. I thank my God for our dedicated and faithful Sunday School and Bible Study teachers. I pray that you real-ize just how blessed we are with such committed individuals. Please support them by your faithful attendance.

Pray about using your gifts and talents in the work of the Min-istry of RBC. While all Sunday Bible class teacher positions are currently filled, there are still needs for Adult and Chil-dren’s Bible Study Teachers. The Children’s TeamKID Minis-try and quarterly Children’s Church leaders are needed. We are in continual need of additional nursery workers for Sunday School and Church services. Please help by volunteering one Sunday morning a quarter. See Mrs. Mindy or Mrs. Linda to volunteer. Friends, there are plenty of opportunities to get in-volved—infant through Senior Adults. Note: The weekly nurs-ing home ministries need volunteers—@ the Tower’s, each Tuesday - 10 am; and @ Lost Pines’, each Sunday - 8:30 am; also, there are opportunities to be involved in the Youth Minis-try, Men’s & Ladies’ Ministry, Adult Sunday Bible Study clas-ses, Adult Choir and in the Food Pantry Ministries. Find a place to serve. RBC NEEDS YOU!

Be faithful to a Bible Study class. Find a Bible Study class that is right for you; study God’s Word together and get to know one another. Get PLUGGED IN! Be committed to faithfulness in Sunday morning Adult Bible Study/Sunday School and Wor-ship? We also have Bible study on Sunday evening at 6 and Wednesday evening at 6 (w/a meal provided), for all ages. And, don’t forget the Ladies’ Bible Study on Tuesday afternoon @ 1. See you Sunday at 9:45 am, as we open the Word of God together.

For the believer, there should be no difference between the secular and the sacred.

All ground is Holy Ground in the presence of Jehovah, God!

PS. Don’t forget, October 27th, is Jubilee Sunday: Invite all your family and friends, and let’s have an amazing day, celebrating what God’s doing at RBC.

What a great first month of school we had. In September, we remembered the

victims and families of 9/11 on Patriot Day. We also gathered at the flag pole for

our annual See You at The Pole Day. And, we honored the many grandparents

of RCA at our Grandparent/Student Fellowship. The kids did a great job of

singing and reciting their memory verses. I want to thank Mrs. Dana, our music

teacher, for all her preparation with the students. It was a blessed month, indeed!

October is here and we have several things to look forward to on the calendar.

Pray for our teachers, aides and staff as they travel to Houston for the ACE

Educator’s Conference. ACE is celebrating its 50th anniversary—what an honor!

We’ll also get spirited during Tribe/RCA Spirit Week. Each year the kids deco-

rate banners, learn cheers and get fired up for the Pep Rally on the Friday of the

Homecoming game. We’ve invited the Tribe players out again this year to join

us!

Last, but not least, we have RBC Jubilee Sunday and Christmas in October. It’s

not yet the busiest time of the year, but it can feel that way! Let us be thankful

our school and church put on such great activities to be involved in.

Thank you to all of you that look for ways to help, donate and contribute to

RCA. Without naming names, I’m so appreciative of you—to God be the glory.

In His Service, Bro. Curtis

We are a month into TeamKID. Our theme for this quarter is “There is No One Like Our God!” We are currently studying about Elijah. We learned about how he was fed by the ravens; and God brought a widow’s son back to life by Elijah praying over him. The Old Testament is so rich in these powerful stories of how God showed that He is the only true God. Our evening sconsist of a Bible story followed by a game. Sometimes, we reverse the order. Let me encourage you to have your child/children to be a part of TeamKID on Wednesdays at 6 PM.

On October 30, we will be having our first ever ‘Christmas in October’. We will have Christmas games, food, fun, hay rides and more on that night. We will start at 6:30pm. You do not want to miss this night. Not only will it be a night of fun, but also a night of service. We are asking you to bring a new toy, unwrapped, for any age, and place it under the Christmas tree. These toys will be used by the church to provide Christmas for families in need.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. We have a special place for you and your child at Ro-sanky Baptist Church.

In HIS Grip,

Bro. Curtis

13 Tips for the Overcommitted, Overloaded, and Overwhelmed

For most of us, our to-do list is so long that there is no way we’d ever be able to complete it - no matter how many hours we had in a day! Here are a few helpful hints for when you are feeling overcommitted, overloaded, and overwhelmed.

1. Get a good night’s sleep.

2. Take control. Don’t blame others for your overload.

3. Learn to say no. Prayerfully consider every request, & request as God directs.

4. Set boundaries - protect your family time.

5. Seek solitude. Sift through your daily problems & brainstorm solu-tions.

6. Ax the guilt. No one can do it all.

7. Refuse to compare your weaknesses with someone else’s strengths.

8. Decide what matters most in light of eternity.

9. Enjoy your kids now. Someday they will be adults.

10. Encourage your spouse. Spend quality time with each other.

11. Escape the “extracurricular activities” trap. Many successful adults never played T-ball or took piano lessons. Make choices.

12. Realize the values children learn from down time. Your home life will set a foundation for their future households.

13. Seek God. Our limitations remind us how much we need Him.

Ladies Bible Study We are now in the midst of our study about how to handle life with It’s Not Supposed to be This Way, by Lisa Terkeurst. The author has shared what God has shown her during a most turbulent time in her own personal life.

No matter how young or how old we are, life gets really tough at times, but, praise Jesus, those are the times when we turn to Him and really seek out His Word, His Truth, and His Way!! (Just like John 14:6 says.)

We’d love to have you join us, even if you just want to join us for the video and discussion parts of our study. We meet each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., in the Adult 1 Sunday School classroom for 2 hours of sharing and growing in God’s Word. But, if you still want to purchase the two books used in the study, please let the office know. The total book cost is $20.50.

This particular study will be completed on October 22, unless we need to adjust the time schedule for further discussion.

In Christ’s Love, Mrs. Chris

I pray all students are off to a successful school year! Over the past few weeks, Wednesday and Sunday Bible study has had the highest attendance average all year. Parents, thank you for making the extra effort to get your teen to church.

See You at the Pole was held on September 25th. What an incredible morning we had with 75 Students in attendance. Thank you to all the parents, who encouraged their child to participate.

In October, instead of having the Fall Festival, we will be having 'Christmas in October'. 'Christmas in October' will be a Toy Drive of new, unwrapped toys for under privileged kids of all ages. The toys will be dispersed at Christmas. We will have hay rides, Christmas themed games, food, inflatables, and other activities for kids. We need parent and teen volunteers to help make this a successful event. We also, need donations for the cake walk. If you are interested in volunteering please see myself or someone in the office.

Come grow with us!

Blessings,

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

The choir is having a lot of fun with our new music, and we are looking forward to sharing it with all of you. We are taking on a more contemporary flair as well as retaining some of the old faithfuls. At any rate, I think you will enjoy the new genre we have chosen. You know, you can still join us and have lots of fun with us. We usually end up laughing a lot at choir practice. Some of the titles you might recognize are: Trust in You, No Longer a Slave, At the Cross, God Is On the Move, Because He Lives (new version), Hosanna (new version), Grace Flows Down, and more.

We are also looking ahead toward the holidays. Christmas is right round the corner, and we are working on selections to make it a really blessed season for all. It's all done in the name of the Lord, and we love singing to honor Him. Won't you join us and receive a blessing that you will never forget? Well, God bless you all, and remember to:

KEEP ON SINGING FOR THE LORD!! FROM MARTHA AND THE RBC ADULT SANCTUARY CHOIR.

How to Become A

Christian (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)

Repent (turn away) from your sin

A—ADMIT:

Admit to God that you are a sinner

(Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

B—BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus is God’s only Son and

accept God’s forgiveness from sin

(Romans 5:8; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; John

14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

C—CONFESS

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior

and Lord (Romans 10:9-10, and 13)

Is it time for you to become a

Christian? God’s Holy Spirit will help you know

if you are ready to become a Christian.

If it is time, pray a prayer such as the

one below:

Dear God: I know that I have sinned

and that my sin separates me from

You. I am sorry for my sins. I believe

that Jesus died on the cross for me so

that my sin can be forgiven. I believe

Jesus rose from the dead and is alive.

I ask Jesus, to come into my life and to

be my Savior and Lord. I will obey

You and live for You the rest of my

life.

Thank you, Amen!

If you have trusted Jesus to be your

Savior and Lord, you can be sure

that…

1) Your sin is forgiven.

2) You are a Christian.

3) You are a child of God.

4) God will always be with you.

5) You will go to heaven when you

die.

What can you do now?

Tell others that you are a Christian

and that Jesus is your Savior and

Lord.

Attend Church and Bible Study reg-

ularly.

Be baptized to show others that you

have become a Christian.

Read the Bible and pray to God every day.
