With 15 cars and 29 members and guests we set off towards The Good Oil Café Espresso Bar in Wallsend. Enjoying the Hot Beverages and snacks before having a photo group taken, the majority of us sat outside in the warm sun, surprising many prospective customers and cars being driven down the main street. At the park in Patterson we found the grassy area somewhat sandy with dry built up tracks everywhere, however, we all managed to manoeuvre around and picked our spot to park handy to the BBQ Area which was used for our lunches. Passes by who had the same idea set up elsewhere, and a few onlookers arrived, inspected our cars giving them a nod of their approval much to our delight. One young Lady, who was passing by with her family, was happy to hold the end of the Ford Flag for a photo, as it was her namesake. The car was Neville’s Holden. Another great days outing put on by Natalie with connections to our Ladies Auxiliary, and everyone enjoyed their day. Honourable Certificates went to Brian and Lyn, Eliza and Ros.

To ensure the ultimate Experience Viewing is by appointment only.

What a great fun filled day with like minded friends, families, new members, warm weather, and animals. With Snoopy joining us at Edgeworth Maccas, the other animals had to wait until we reached our morning tea stop. June and Rudy had planned and printed out running sheets for us to follow to get to our morning tea stop over. Being an Observation Run many of the members were able to answer the first question sheet to look for answers such as ‘ What company shares the name of King Arthur’s Sword? The name of the horse with the hat? Who lives at No. 600? How many chimneys does the house have?’ etc. in all, Thirty-Seven things to find. Down at the bottom of the question sheet and fortunate for at least one person, you were able to find the hidden answer to where you had to go to in case you got lost. Everyone managed to get to their destination – MORISSET HOSPITAL. Surprisingly, quite a lot of people arrived during the morning, either walking down from the private property entrance or driving their cars down to the acres on where the Hospital is situated. A very large open area, and parking our cars under the shade of trees, everyone set up their fold-up chairs and out came their morning tea. We were also welcomed by Kangaroos which seemed to like the company of humans, coming over to us to see if any had some chopped up carrots for them to eat. We were then handed the second set of instructions to find our destination for lunch with another thirty-seven questions. Finding these and writing the answers down, everyone found their way and ended up at Wrightson Park, NORDS WHARF. Having lunch there by the shores of Lake Macquarie, and finding a small flock of Pelicans resting and sun bathing along the waters edge. Best score prizes went to Ken Morris and family, as well as Grant Johnston and family. Honourable Certificates went to Andre Van der Velde and our newest members Vicki and Ken Fairhall. We all had a wonderful time and our thanks go to June and Rudy for a great days outing.

Folks, what a beautiful day, at the Maitland Motorfest, 2015, with the NRVC, I only took some overview photos as I am still recovering from being sick. We are Happy to report that Percy got the Best Classic Trophy, thanks to Atlantic Oil.

And from Debbie, we left Hexham Maccas on our way to Maitland Motor Fest. In attendance we had 15 cars, and 22 members who enjoyed a perfect day with lots of laughs. There was a good variety of cars from Classic, Veteran, Hot Rods, Speedway Cars, Motor Bikes and Modern Cars. Bill and Collene Kalb won Best Classic Car on Show.

Meeting Opened: 7.00 pm President Norm phoned in his attendance and was present, along with Terry, Doris, Ross, Neville, Ken and Ros. Treasurer Doris informed, and showed us paperwork which was for our Liability Insurance Cover. Registrar Ken advised that a current member was refused Historic Registration Inspection on the grounds of breaching the conditions set out by RMS. Vice-President Terry wanted to share his recent driving experience with members on his old Commodore with CLUB

PLATES. Fortunately for Terry, and always doing the correct thing by phoning the Registrar when he needed to take the car out, but unfortunately luck was not on his side this time out.

Ken had advised Terry to take the car for a bit of a run prior to an outing, so armed with the relevant paperwork Terry set out. Unfortunately he started getting up his speed to go up a hill, unknown to him there was a policeman coming down the hill, with radar and in a 80 klm zone. Well, the policeman couldn’t believe his eyes nor the reading of 98 klms and in an old Commodore. So,

rubbing his hands the police did a U-turn, and putting on his flashing lights caught up with embarrassed Terry and booked him for speeding, as well as checking that all his paperwork was correct. 3 Demerit points later Terry can still have a laugh about it.

Club-Captain Neville, whilst still suffering from a terrible bug and having difficulty talking with his cold, managed to speak on the upcoming runs and events planned, which have been included in the Calendar.

Meeting Closed: 8.15 pm

On this note and on behalf of members, we wish those on the sick list a ‘Get Well Soon’.

NRVC COMMITTEE MEETING – Tuesday 15th August, 2015

Once again the weather was near perfect for our mid-week car run. Meeting at Maccas we headed off for our morning tea stop at Raymond Terrace. We had 12 cars in total and 24 people. The cars were popular at the park with people walking past and reminiscing when they owned one of these cars in their younger days. We then headed to Ringwood Raceway for lunch. After lunch, 2 ladies had the thrill of being driven around the racetrack in one of the race cars. The look on their faces when they took off their helmets was PRICELESS!!!! Then it was time for the boys and their toys to drive their cars around the track with some of them thinking they were also in a race. Once again it was another top day and thanks to Christine Waugh for organizing it for us. The day was finished with an ice cream at Maccas.
